Horses are exploited just as much if not more than whales.

I think it was playing, it could of completely slaughtered her. Also, it is far from cruel, they actually like it. Dolphins find swimming with humans awfully fun, because they like having someone to swim with them who needs the aid of them. It's sweet, really.

Yes it was playing. But would you like someone shoved on your back and you forced to run around? Stupid question, of course you would but thats not the point :P
Yes they did put the whale down :(

Here's the flaw in your argument. I am not a killer whale ;) So I would not know, and most animals, if they are uncomfortable, would just shake off whatever is on their back "/
Yes they did put the whale down :(
That's a shame :( Life is cruel...

Yes they did put the whale down :(
Can they do that? i thought they were endangered or somthing?
Plus i dont really see how they can call it an attack, a killer whale is more than capable of biteing her in half if it wanted to, not to mention the fact from its weight alown it could have pulled alll the people pulling the girl out, in if it had tried o.0

Deserved imo, but I do feel for her, having her leg in its mouth.
I'm more sad for the whale tho
If animals didn't want humans to do what they want; they'd get their AK-47's out and well, you know...

I feel sorry for the Orca. I am big on animal cruelty campaigns and the WWF and all, so the woman really shouldn't be messing around on it.
Can they do that? i thought they were endangered or somthing?
I dont think Orcas are, as there are loads kept in captivity around the world, and there seems to be plenty on wildlife shows :P

Its even crueler that it had to live in that small pool 24/7. They should be out in the wild, in thier own habitat, not where people pay to watch, thats just wrong

A human on a whales back is probably like a bag with a few light things in on ours. It would be like a feather to a whale. Plus whales can swim and move around in the water VERY easily. It's not like a human going on a whales back is going to do it any harm...

gommeinc is right, also - you can't force an 8,000 lbs animal to let you swim on thier back..
such as discovery cove where i swam with dolphins, the dophins volenteraly come out + do the routine, you can't force them to, they're amazingly stong swimmers.
and it' not food motivation, thats just a treat..
when we went, our dolphin started doing tricks with thefih it was given, showing that it's not food motivation.
anyone who said she deserved it is just as bad, maybe yr against animal cruelty but that woman is human, she doesn't deserve it just as much as the anima doesn't deserve to be keptin captivity.

There is a differnce to riding on the back of an animal and swimming with it, while they may enjoy swimming with humans they may not enjoy getting rode on. Just like i like walking with my mates, but i would prefer them not to be on my back.
The whale shouldnt have been put to sleep though, but i do feel sorry for the woman!

Tbh, i only have a problem with the putting the whale down, playing with its nothing wrong in my book, but killing the whale when it plays along isnt really playing fair now is it. She knew the risk, if she wasnt prepared to be in a possible accident she should never had got in the tank.
don't killer whales, usually kill people anyway? its like me riding on a crocodile ;l

she knew the risk, she knew what she was getting into.
if it wanted to the whale could have shredded her to pieces?

She got what she deserved tbh.
The stupid girl shouldn't ride on the back of
the whale in the first place.
When the whale had the girls leg in it's mouth
he could of bit it off EASY.
You can't force whales and dolphins to do things like
tricks and stuff, dolphins love the company of humans so
most of the time they just come out because they like the company,
also, you don't actually ride dolphins they hold onto you,
or vice versa.
Anyway, to sum it all up - the girl was stupid
shouldn't of ridden on the whale, the whale shouldn't of been
put down, its not the whales fault it doesn't want people
riding on it's back.

Yet you don't realise that you are not a killer whale and your example is very bad. You are the same size as your friends (roughly). We are 1/5 a killer whale (which is a guess) in size. It would be like having an adult cat lay on your back, painless "/
Also, if you bothered reading my example, I said dolphins like to aid us in swimming, which means ride or hold on to "/

Riding on the back of a dolphin/whale isnt swimming "/
And no matter what any one says, she must of knew the risks, if the whale and wanted to it could of easily killed her, and the whale shoudlnt have been put to sleep

You ride dolphins when you go "swimming with dolphins." Riding is one of the things you can do. You learn the ropes of swimming with a dolphin and getting to know the dolphin itself. It likes it, which is why, whoever said it is cruel, is an idiot "/
She probably did know the risks, but obviously manned killer whales are very unlikely to attack someone. The Killer Whale must of been in a playful mood at the time, which is why it didn't kill her. Playfulness has biting and tugging included, most animals capable of it, do it. I do disagree with it being killed, it was clearly playing? Just have to teach it the difference...
I don't rly agree with it either but it's sad :( it was a well shexy whale <333 ;[[
and yeah, it thought it was playing ;[ I dont agree with it being put down
I LOVE THEM <333
