This months the 'Photoshop Site Doctor' of 'Web Design' magazine has turned to Habbo Hotel. Basically the two page spread covers certain aspects of the design and the methods in which the designers at Sulake HQ have used to try and keep the design simple, yet effective. The article covers art on a theme (covering expanding from a normal style background), Bending the Rules (How Habbo Hotel breaks the conventional isometric pixel rules), Multiple Lead Stories (When you can choose from a selection of stories on the home page) and Keeping things simple. As well as a quick tutorial on how to create Habbo Hotel style firework explosions. Photos attached.

P.S. Bit odd how they choose Habbo.Com for a UK based magazine.

Wow, nice screenies + Rep :P

It's annoying when they put www.habbo.com (http://www.habbo.com) in UK magazines.

I think they don't even care about Habbo, but just its layout.
Bit stupid to be honest.

Its a UK magazine mate. Register company in the UK, published, printed and dealt with all the UK. Even all the adverts in the mag are UK based such as the Birmingham Focus on Imaging weekend, Heart Internet, and companies such as pipex. Even the spelling is English thank goodness. You are correct on one thing, a rather obvious statement, this is the UK News and Rumors category, well done on you're extremely good observation skills. However, the layout might be of the US Hotel but as the magazine is published and sold in the UK, this post and that article is for the good residents of the UK, not US.

And I don't think ^^ appreciates the fact outside the Habbo Hotel community it is just another layout, a very well put together one, but at the end of the day its just another online community to the designing world.

That was a pointless post, do you think it's cool to point out these things.

The whole Habbo DESIGN is on the page it does not matter if it was the US version they covered, simply because the habbo design was covered (which was the same).

Interesting that Habbo is getting publicity all of a sudden.

Very cool, +Rep! :)

Habbo is getting loads of publicity now, yeah.. it's like loads of companies are seeing it now, and jumping on the "let's have a look" bandwagon. Nice job Habbo!

I really don't class this as 'Habbo News' because it's a Web Designer magazine and is to do with the actual design of the Habbo site.

The design isn't the best; and there are several major ways in which improvements can be made imo.

I still think this belongs in 'Habbo in General' or something similar.

Well done for noticing, and +Rep.

How weird. I bought that magazine last night not knowing it had ANYTHING about Habbo in it. I just wanted their tutorial on a CSS layout lol.

When I opened it up, I was suprised at how much Habbo it being advertised and getting noticed recently.
