Heyy, i'm just wondering, if i got a Provisional Driving Licence for a mo-ped, would this also allow me to drive a car aslong as someone over 21 with a full drivers licence is in the car with me?

Thanksss, (Rep will be given from my other account, You)

Nope. Mo-ped licence and car licence are different. you would need to take a driving test to do that

I would've thought you wouldn't need to? As long as you're over 17.

I do know that you don't have to take a test for a provisional licence (car)

Anywho, thanks to the other replies.

provisionals are the same reguardless.

you need to take a CBT (i think) test before you drive a moped, theyre around £130 to take though. but theyre good for the span of your provisional.

but a car, you Only need a provisional, and like you said, you can drive with someone who has a licence, if you have insurance + L Plates.

I got my license through yesterday and it really doesn't help. Has some pictures on the back of various vehicles but I dunno what it means.

The rules have changed on driving a car. You need to be 18 to drive. And they are different licenses to the original question as they are different. You need to know how to change gears, break, steer, do U-turns etc

Nah moped and car are 2 different licenses altogether as others have already said. Personally Id skip the moped and just wait a year till you can drive. Much safer. :)

They are thinking about changing the age of driving to 18 but its not 18 as yet.

What country are you in? ZL2 is from the UK, where the age for driving a car is 17. You can apply for a provisional when you are 16 approaching 17, so a few weeks before I beleive?

lol, i think i explained it wrong, I don't want to drive a moped, i want a provisional for a car, but when i go to apply for it online it says i will get a moped licence, so i wanted to know if a moped licence would let me drive a car with a 21+ who has a full licence?

You can't drive a car with a moped license? So no, you have to apply for the car one?

When I passed, I drove for 2-3 months at the age of 17. I turned 18 in Feb?

On the DVLA website, it says Cars (with or without trailers) can be driven by someone at the age of 17. You can also be 16 to drive a car IF you have DLA (Disability Living Allowance).

How old are you Marcus?

No, they have to be at least 21 - if they pass at 17 they have to wait until they are 21 before they can supervise someone.

I think its the other way round.

I think if you got a licence for a car, you could then ride a moped.
