aye that other thread got me thinking..
who is your teams local derby?
ours changes every year :D used to be the likes of preston/burnley when we played in the same league as them, last few years have been darlo and this year was blackpool (even though it's still a 250+ mile round trip!)

Ipswich of course ;) There's a few others that could be classed as derbies but there is not the same rivalry compared to Ipswich.

How does it change every year?
It stays the same.
Local derbys are football matches between LOCAL
towns like, Aston Villa and Birmingham
West Ham and Chelsea
Boro and Newcastle
Newcastle and Sunderland
Arsenal and Tottenham.
Get it now?
Boro's are Newcastle, Sunderland, Darlo and Hartlepool

Well there are 3 teams playing in our borough, the others being Chelsea (who our fans seem to despise) & Fulham (who shared our ground a couple of seasons ago). Over the years though, we've built up a fierce rivalry with Brentford which I actually miss!
This season's proper derby match though has been LUTON...Richard Langley, Clark Carlisle...playing them FOUR times in one season...bloodbath on Uxbridge Road before the FA Cup tie and there's a HUGE (relegation battle) match against them at Loftus Road coming up in April...Luton's definitely become an exciting fixture and we've built up a strong rivalry with them.

Also, just because i'm a girl I don't know anything about football?

From your point when you said Chelsea and West ham aren't rivals
CHELSEA v WEST HAM UNITED, 1-0 Sat 18 Nov 2006
Geremi found the top corner with a delicious free-kick as Barclays Premiership champions Chelsea defeated London rivals West Ham United at Stamford Bridge.
Notice the bit about london rivals?
I take back my statement about them being a derby, but they are
london rivals, as you said they weren't

The media tend to generalise the whole of London but in terms of rivals, teams like to stick with 'North/West/East' London derbies
