My grandad had a stroke i found out yesterday. Is there a good chance he will live? hes 79, It's weird because im not like crying :l I supose it's cause i dunno how to feel as this has never happened before, Well it has but i was 2-3

If you're not used to this sort of thing then it won't bother you, it doesn't mean you don't care. It'd probably get to you if the worst happened and you realised the difference. As of his chance of living, there's a huge chance, strokes aren't usually that life-threatening I don't think, they usually just paralyse you. Unless he's extremely unhealthy I doubt you have anything to worry about.

My grandad passed away two years ago. and it only REALLY hit me few weeks ago on his 85th birthday & whenever hes mentioned.

My grandad is in his 80s and has had more than 4 strokes and is still alive. Although he in hospital at the moment after another stroke and is refusing a feeding tube and is now also starting to refuse a drip. So I don't exactly know what he is trying to do now... So 1 stroke doesn't mean he is going to die, unless it was extremely powerful, which is incredibly rare.

My grandad was like that. ALl stubborn with hospital care n all.

He swears and shouts at nurses. It's quite funny watching him, until he starts getting upset because nan is too tired to come visit him and he starts to cry :(

Lots of people have strokes and survive, dont worry =] depends on his body and health too

aparently he has had strokes on each side of his brain
