Yeah it's the top 2 from each group.

I think South Africa will win.

Group A - Australia and South Africa
Group B - India and Sri Lanka
Group C - England and New Zeland
Group D - Pakistan and West Indies

Are most likely to progress from the group stages (doesn't mean in that order though :p)

The games are SO fixed.

If you look at the fixtures,

The big 2/3 teams from each group play each other last (therefore it will be just for pride)

They should have a new group layout:

All the big teams in two groups, the littler teams in other groups...

Would open up the tournament alot more.

Seeing the likes of Australia, SA, Pakistan,India,Sri Lanka all go out in first round would entice me to watch it more?

They will probably play each other in the semis/quarter finals.
Having big teams in 1 group would be interesting to watch, as it would be more comeptitive. But then that means crapper teams have a better chance of getting through, which isnt fair.

Well I think Bermuda are going to win of course . Obviously I'm joking. Any of the big teams can win it. India looked good in the warm up game against the Windies. Any team that can bowl them out for 85 must be good!

I think England will get to the Super Eights, but no further.

I'll tip either India or Australia to win.

But the thing is, even if the groups were split up like that, then it means an easier passage in the Quarter's and semi's for the "elite" teams, does it not?
I can understand what you mean though :)

Furthest I see England going is the Semi's, then they'll in which they'll lose to India probably.

Still tipping SA for the win, India being runner-up.

I know nothing about Cricket but I know we haven't been incredible as of late. Especially the ashes tournament. Rooting for England, tipping ozland to win.

You're right you don't know too much.

The ODI series was still part of the ashes down-under tour and we absolutely hammered Australia.

The actual 'ashes series' we were humiliated aye, unfortunately but those were test matches and this is different.

Australia 2-1
SA 4-1
Sri Lanka 7-1
India 7-1
England 8-1

Shocking odds imo:

Best batsman - Flintoff 66-1
Best bowler - Vettori 33-1
Not to make a century - Ponting 7/4 [interesting this one, worth a shot]
Most wins - Bermuda 2000-1 [just for fun aye :P]

Haha Adam :')

Surprised England are even 8-1 to win.

I don't think Ponting will make any centuries you know, top score of around 80 I think.
Top batsman will be someone like Mohammed Yousuf or Younis Kahn I think. (but from pakistan.. ironically)

what happened to that BIG english bowler? can he actually make runs in batting by running? (not trying to be rude but serious..)

Australia will win anyway

Stuart Broad? or Chris Tremlett?

They can hit a ball pretty well. Weren't included in the squad though.

Windies done well; they've set the pace - now it's up to the rest to follow.

Quite looking forward to the rest now; after a thrilling match thus far.

I hate how Pakistan are like "We are only crap cos 3 of our best players arent playing"

Idiots.

James Anderson a worry for England

& Michael Vaughan has said he is fully ready to play for England now.

In the match at the moment, Australia got 334 - 6 and Scotland are currently doing poorly on around 47 - 5!

Sri Lanka 235 all out
England 233-8 (50 overs)

ARRRGHHH, how close was that!? Gotta hand it to Ravi Bopara though, those late boundaries gave us all hope.
Such a tight finish though, quality stuff. We won't qualify for the semis now...
