Make 1k iron bars and sell for 250 ea on forums..

Or, buy steel bars 600ea make cannon balls sell 200ea 4 x 200 = 800. 200 profit.

Took me 2 hours to smelt 2k steel bars to 8k cannon balls, sold within 5minutes. :)

unless you have made and enchanted them yourself, rings of forging can cost you at least 5k each, maybe more.

so in actual fact... IF you have to buy the forging rings... you would make 50k LESS profit [minimum] than what you would do by making the rings yourself
