View Full Version : Global Warming - Are We Doing Enough?

[Chris]

Well, i made this topic to discuss global warming and its effects, "do you think enough is being done to combat global warming?"
well, do you?

I dont as many people agree - there are lots more cars on the road each year, getting more and more and then theres the factories that make the parts. so wheres the point? -Well the more cars coming on the road each year is increasing the risk of something catastrophic happening an example is hurricane katrina which hit new orleans last year - think about how many people died (roughly 1800) and the amount of people still missing, presumed dead (roughly 700). imagine if this happened to any of your family in a freak tsunami or hurricane - how would you feel about global warming?

so, this thread is simply to discuss global warming and not to spam "n03z n01 di3d in a tsuami or hurr1c4ne th4t i kn0w!23" - get the idea?

yeah, same. it's gonna affect people in like.. thousands of years. so i'm not rly bothered - i'll be dead.:8

lmao, yeah. but it wont majorly affect us in this century anyway.

Give me evidence that without human CO2 emissions the greenhouse effect wouldnt take place then I'll have a discussion :D

The earth heated up way back in the past without humands being around. so who says we're to blame?

My children and grandchildren will die within 200 years, so I don't give a damnabout it.

Serious view:

Global warming is a load of rubbish imo.

It's the earth, we're not going to boil to death, it's NOT our fault.

The earth has changed SO MANY times!

on that note - we invented cars (blame the japenese :P) whick releases so-called greenhouse gasses which is creating a layer of "rubbish" around the earth which is making the ozone layer thicker which traps more heat then it should thus warming the world, parts of the ice caps will melt causing the water level to rise slightly - flooding

BLAME SCIENCE FOR THE ABOVE pls

idc abou global warming.
i mean look -- the summers starting already.
long summers, short winter.
soon enough, we'll just have constant warm weather.
i don't mind that tbf.

The layer of gasses is natural. The emissions only add to the amount of gasses in the layer, most of which are released naturally anyway.

Global warming is basically the enhanced greenhouse gas effect.

Blame the germans actually :p i think they were the ones who created the first car ..

Also i don't think we're doing enough, we're sending carbon emissions into the air clogging up the atmosphere , notice we're having warmer winters? messed up summers? freak heatwaves?

Yes the earth heated up thousands of years ago but that was a natural cycle, we're imbalancing it =/

probably not. it's always going to be OUR fault. the government always like to blame us for something.
ah well, long live da sunn!!

I saw a program which basically said while they have been recording Earths heat is rising at the same time they have recorded massive solar flares and in fact the sudden rise in heat & the weird weather has been caused by the sun and its solar flares not human activity. I'm with this theory tbh

Depends what you define car as, Wikipedia (the center of all knowledge) says; the internal combustion engine was invented by a swiss man, Yet the first car to run on a engine as we know it today, was made in Germany by Karl Benz in 1885.

But then again, It's not just cars that produce the gases that add to the greenhouse effect.

everyone that says that this is natural; lol@u
but i care about it as i live in florida and i dont need no strong hurricanes or the flooding of florida

and you all just want to believe the other side of the story about solar flares and crap so you dont feel any guilt about it.

&@luke, its not only warm weather lol
your country will be flooded as well
and hurricanes, tsunamis, heat waves, el ninos, and other storms will be more frequent and more powerful.

Lmao I wanted to do that. Yea, global warming can't really be helped. With industrialization, people would choose money to our climate :P

didnt u watch that proogramme on channel 4 the other day .. this is how the world is spose to be it goes in to a ice age then gets hotter .. and th use of cars, factories doesn't make alot of c02 copared to volcanoes etc..!

Someone was telling me about a program about global warming not even existing because Co2 oly makes up a tiny proportion of the atmostphere
tbh
i dont take much notice
i havent changed my life because of it.
