Even though everyone uses it Cutenews is still in my opinion the best, easiest to use, most secure MySQL'less news system out there. And it can easily be turned into a cms if you know how to code the templates.

^^ my portfolio is runned by cutenews (www.2nd-design.com) just using 3 category's (home/wips/folio) & using 2 templates for the posts, one for home one for designs.

I have to be honest, cutenews maybe the classic old one but its still good
