I find gay people sick...
I respect gays as much as I respect a straight couple, but what im saying is why should the gays get to kiss/make out in public?
Some of us don't want to see that... they should do it in private..
What do you think?

Let them do what they want "/ It's about time society got rid of this barrier between gays and public signs of affection. Some people don't want to see a straight copuple kiss and fondle, but you have to put up with it. Although I'm not fussed about either "/

There is free speech but not when people obv set out to hurt peoples feeling, By posting that you have most likely hurt peoples feeling and i dnt think you should of posted it in the first person. If you have such a harsh opionion keep it to yourself.

That is rubbish. Homosexuals are not more of a man than most men in the world. Just because they come out, doesn't make them so much of a man. Sure they are being brave, but how does that make him more of a man than for example a straight firefighter who saves peoples lives? It doesn't. That was a stupid comment from you.

I think i know what he means by being a bigger man or i may have the wrong end of a stick, but for most gay people it takes a hell alot of guts to come out and kiss in public as some people are REALLY againist it and even want to harm homosexuals or have really strong views. I know i don't have the guts to come out or even hug another gay in public as im scared incase someone says something :s
So i think it means it takes a big man to come out fully as a homosexual or woman as a lesbian.

i agree, it's hard to miss. i hate it when people say "if you don't like it don't look at it" as if you're always on the lookout for things you don't like so you can avoid them. somethings are unavoidable.

Ummm... wth?
You think its "wrong" for gays to kiss in public, but its ok for straights to? Just cause you are straight, doesnt mean you are on a higher plane then them. Ever stop to think that they may think straight people kissing in public should be kept private?
Ellis.
19-03-2007, 03:00 AM
Mmm.. I think that homosexual couples should be able to show affection for each other in public as much as straight people can.
I think the only negative reason I see with showing affection would be when the couple(s) are showing affection in an extreme manner (tongue[?], removal of clothes). This goes for homosexual as well as straight couples.
In my honest opinion, only a pervert would want to watch either type of couple show affection in an extreme manner in public. If the couple wants to do that sort of thing, then do it somewhere more private, not in public.
tbh; more homosexual couples should kiss in public. I've only ever seen it once :( and that was at like 11pm outside of a gay bar :(! (Was in a car one the way home from a restaurant btw xD).
I don't like seeing heterosexual couples make out in public - the thought of kissing a girl makes me feel sick yet I have to put up with it.

Why should the straights get to kiss in public? Why should it be considered socially accepted?
If youre going to make rules for one group of people, they should apply for all.
Personally I dont see the problem, I actually cant remember ever seeing a gay couple making our while say, walking through town. Never has it happened near me.
The closest I have come to that was seeing two guys holding hands, and that was in London a few hundred miles away from me :P
You are one of the people who ruin this forum, its free speech, im entitled to my opinion, it doesnt mean you have to agree but it does mean you have to respect it.
Reference to your first post: The post in general, I found fine. It was that one line that started it off, that was all wrong. "I find gay people sick" That is not free speach at all, and its rediculous that it has been allowed to stay by the mods. But hey, side matter.
As i mentioned, that isnt free speach, that is deliberately going out of your way to insult people of a certain sexuality, if you were saying that about another race you would immediately be labelled a racist, and probably banned.
No we do not have to respect your opinion that gay people are sick, as it is rediculous. You not feeling comfortable with gay people making out, I can live with. Thats your feelings and I cant change that, but outright rudeness is not on.
why should straights get to kiss in public? i don't want to see that..
^^ not my opinion, but it's practically what you're saying just in some gay peoples pov.
Amen, sista :P
I honestly couldn't care less. A gay couple have just as much right to show one another affection in public as a straight couple do. When you're uncomfortable seeing a straight couple kissing in public (for example) you look away and think nothing more of it... do the same when you see a gay couple kissing, it's not difficult, lol.
I think as a society we need to get over this idea that gay people are any different to straight people. We may more accepting of gay people now compared to way back when, but there's still a lot of misconception, prejudgement, etc that needs to be tackled.

Helen, read my post, and dont swear at me, I dont appreciate it. Show a little bit of maturity, rather than just shouting every first thought that comes into your head, people will be more likely to listen to you.
I actually agree with you about religious ceremonies and homosexuals, as its completely hypocritical of the church to allow them, and I would personally never get married in a church, even if it was allowed (which it never will be.)
I am, however, all for civil partnerships to be allowed, in a registry office or whatever, so that they have just as much rights as a married couple as any hetrosexual couple do.

This isn't Helen, this is Craig using her banned account whilst my account is banned. I swore at you because you told me to "grow up". Well that's not being mature, telling me to grow up based on my beliefs "/ To be honest, it's barely shouting. I swore at you, big whoop!
The day that homosexuals are allowed religious ceremonies is the day that a lot of religious followers no longer go to church & I for one will be rioting. I'm not Christian, I'm agnostic(sorta in the middle, not sure about God) but I don't believe it's right. Homosexuals should not be allowed religious ceremonies.
I also partly believe that homosexuals shouldn't be allowed to adopt. But a part of me thinks about rights and how they should be the same. I personally think of the effects, an adopted child will get mocked/bullied for having gay parents, and although gay people are portrayed to have more love(which I think is a stupid stereotype), I think it should be a man & woman as the parents of a child, cos that's the way it should be.

I personally think regular marriage in a church isn't exactly for the sake of religion, I think it's for the sake of tradition. Loads get married in a church, because their parents have, or because it seems like the right place. You get the the second popular place, which is a hall and then you get the odd few which get married in swimming pools or public toilets.
I don't exactly care if homosexual couples get "married" in a church. It's not hurting anyone and they can do exactly what they want. The church going against homosexuals is contradictory and stupid. Most Christian churches, if not ALL promote a great community and care for it, if they hate homosexuals, they are obviously going against their word. I work in a church, and we're ok with homosexuals, they're just normal people at the end of the day. We even had a gay organist who walked around with a handbag. I thought he was friendly :s

i personally think that both homosexuals and hetrosexuals should just get a room if they want to show affection. well, maybe not all the time, depends on the situation. if they want to do it infront of a large crowd in the middle of a busy place, i say no. you should do it when you're alone in the park together or something, some place quiet.
this goes for both homosexual and hetrosexual couples.
