What's so wrong about posting your own little mini comps?
I always do little comps in the Runescape section because Habbox don't do any for Runescape (mainly because this forum is Habbo based, yeah). There's nothing wrong with making people happy when they win, is there?
I done another little comp yesterday and Micky closed it saying that it's not allowed to post your own comps on the forum, I was just asking what's so wrong with it?
It's not harming anybody..

I believe it was banned because people started making competitions and never gave the prizes etc.
You can always have a Habbo competition run by a competition staff members in the competition forum by PMing one of the comp staff :).

Something I don't understand is why people cannot hold graphics competitions anymore? One's that have no relevance towards habbo. The majority of "forum signatures" aren't based around habbo and shouldn't be banned due to most of the competitions being revolved around something like "signature of the week" the prize is having "winner of signature of the week/month {DATE HERE}" in your signature.
I think it's out of order tbh seeing as how lots of people don't use habbo in the graphics section, also don't say that this forum revolves around habbo because there wouldn't be an "outside of habbo" or whatever section, seriously.
Before the new managers were hired none of these were banned and it's stupid, really - that's why alot of people left if you hadn't noticed. "omg dey av kompitetiozn plz close da fred 4 a mod logz so i kan bekum a supa moderator!!" seriousssly. (:
sort it out, plz. ty.

dum dee dum, i agree it should be allowed.
"omg dey av kompitetiozn plz close da fred 4 a mod logz so i kan bekum a supa moderator!!"
I agree this rule should be reviewed, however I have quoted a small section of your post that I do not agree with. Moderators and Super Moderators (as I have said countless times before) do not make the rules! Your post implies that we have created these rules simply to get Mod Logs - this is not the case, we simply enforce the rules that the Management add to the Forum.

I've always given out prizes.
PMing the comp staff isn't going to help me out seeing as my comps are for Runescape, not Habbo.

I partially agree with Jake here. I still think big competitions shouldn't be allowed to be posted by members, but small competitions should.
By big competitions I mean competitions like "Make me a signature and the best one gets a mocha machine." People have to spend time and effort in those competitions and if the thread starter doesn't give the prize they wasted their time for nothing.
But small competitions, things like "Which famous person is better known as the king of pop?", those competitions should be allowed as they only require 1 minute to answer, you can even google the answer. If somebody doesn't give the prize nobody really loses anything. (Those competitions are also posted by Jake and I always feel bad after closing them because they don't harm anybody.)

You should be allowed to do it, especially if the person doing them is trusted and you that for a fact. But, if you see someone who isn't trusted doing it, maybe just warn the people before hand so they know what they're entering before they enter it.

That will give people a bad reputation though. :(

Maybe rep and below in terms of prizes can be allowed. Another issue with it was the judging, people would give it to their friends or whatever, and someone will always argue favoritism. The impartial judging is hard to attain.

I've never gone with favoritism or gave the prize to someone on purpose, I always get them to PM me and the ones who got it right, i keep the PM, the wrongly answered PMs get deleted, then I number them down from 1 to whatever number of PMs I have then use a Bot on mIRC to choose the winner. (using the !die command with RuneScript).
It's a very fair way and i've had no complaints yet and i've done about 10+ different comps.
Not saying everyone will do it the same way as me, some might go for favoritism or their friends but i doubt many people will be like that.

I've always given out decent prizes.

the whole "signature of the week" competitions weren't created to get habbo furniture as a prize, your prize was recognition. I think that's a good enough prize, i can't stress enough how pathetic the rule's are getting on here. :|

I actually believe the rule is justified. Last thing any of the Moderators, Super Moderators or Administrators need is 500 PMs because someone forgets to close a competition - or is biased in giving out the prizes. It's like the 'not naming scammers' rule, you can never prove fully you intend to give the prize out, and will be impartial...
