Virgin Media is the new sponsor of Big Brother, it has been confirmed.

The company has signed an exclusive deal with Channel 4 to sponsor the eighth series this summer and will have first refusal on the next Celebrity Big Brother.

"We're a pioneering and innovative company so it made sense to create an alliance with a show that has genuinely changed the face of TV," said James Kydd, Virgin Media's managing director of marketing.

Carphone Warehouse pulled out of its £3 million sponsorship deal following the Celebrity Big Brother race row.

Kydd said: "Big Brother has always come under the spotlight and courted a lot of attention.

"Virgin is known for facing challenges head on and we know that our customers enjoy Big Brother because it's the most unpredictable and exciting TV programme there is."

The Virgin Mobile brand will be at the heart of the sponsorship deal.

Channel 4's head of sponsorship, David Charlesworth, said: "We share so much with Virgin in both brand and business so look forward to pooling our expertise to create a ground-breaking sponsorship."

To Set This Straight

Virgin Are One Of The Richest Companies In The World, Talking Multi Billion, Billion, Billion Pound Company.

Sky Are Trying To Monopolize The T.V. Industry And Market By Taking Sky One & Co. Off Virgin Media [VM For Future Reference]

Sky Were Concerned That VM Would Somehow Actually Make MORE Money Than Sky Because Sky One Is VERY Popular [Lost, 24, Bones Etc.]

VM ARE Taking Sky To Court Because Of Their Malicious And Childish Advertising Campaigns [ Get Jack Back, Lost Lost? ] Which TBH Are PROOF That Sky Are Trying To Monopolize The Market, Those Of You Who Think Sky Are Mega Big, Quite Frankly They Are Worth A Lot Of Money BUT Virgin Are More Widely Recognised And TBH Much Better.

Sky Are Low, Virgin Are High. Virgin Are Already Organising Trips To The Moon For Goodness Sakes!! So Stop Arguing About Things You DO NOT KNOW ABOUT!

And Yes.. My Family Are Virgin Media Customers =]

P.S. Yes I Abuse The Shift Key

that sounds biased tbh. virgin may be organising trips to the moon but were talking about virgin media. not the whole of virgin. you cant compare virgin to sky. you have to compare virgin media to sky.

edit: & virgin media is fairly new so you cant really compare it to sky which has been around for years.

Virgin are begining to take over.

They took over my previous internet suplier, Blueyonder Broadband. Then my services went slow. They took over my Cable TV services, which led to lots of good channels to be taken away.

When will they stop.....?

Oh well i guess well done to them.
