Hey,

You definatly have great potential; the style is almost there and at least you have a sense of colour unlike some first-timers.

One flaw is the size of the layout - it practically makes it... impractical?

Nice one for a WIP though, well done - +rep.

Very good so far for your first template.

Here are some ideas I've thought of in which you might be able to improve the layout.

For the marquee, try and use some more colour and shading. For example a nice image like this: http://www.****************/uploads/c9c930485a.png (Repeated -x)

Might look better than just being white (http://www.****************/uploads/a5ab290871.png)

Another way in which you may be able to improve the layout is if you really want to use the colour white on the navigation, etc.

Then try to add some small amounts of shading for example like this:

You would be suprised at how much better it looks!

Ya fairly well done for your first one! Some suggestions though:

-Indent the "sub-links" and drop the lines to them
-Make it bigger(wider) as Dentafrice already said
-At the bottom of your giant sticky note you have a line that just sits there in the bottom right hand corner, its unecessary

But generally very well done +rep!

I tried to keep it a bit small as i dont like layouts / sites that strech out too much :p
But i'll try to make the enxt a bit bigger

I forgot to draw the borders around the whole template as when i was viewing it on paint it already had a border :p

I will keep practising and thanks for the advice :D
