The newest addition to the GTA franchise is New York.

www.Gametrailers.com (http://www.Gametrailers.com) has the trailer up.

It doesnt say New York but you can see the statue of liberty.

There's a Statue of Liberty in Paris too... :)

I hope it does turn out to be multiple European cities. But I'd like to see the trailer before I make judgements. Rockstar have kind of broken the internet :(

That was the worst trailer I have ever seen but if those are the game graphics then that's pretty sweet :P

I've seen it now. Graphics are pretty, choice of city is boring. I don't want to go to NYC AGAIN!

You're an Eastern European guy in GTA 3's Liberty City (NYC).

It probably will have nothing to do with the actual game once it's released, this will just be a trick like when they made up GTA: Sin City and GTA: Tokyo, which turned out to be GTA: San Andreas

I'm not really a fan of GTA, I mean it's a fun game but I think it's a little overrated. But this trailer disappointed me anyways. Everyone was so excited so I thought it would be some amazing trailer.. but it really wasn't.

Pretty much said everything I was going to. I am not a big fan, I think its over-rated but I was expecting more from the trailer...

They were some pretty sweet graphics. I'd like to think the whole " I sold people " thing comes back and maybe you travel across continents. That'd be cool butyh another American city is what it looks like :\

yeah i like the look of it, graphics look amazing. Could have made the trailer slightly longer instead of just having a taster of what will be expected but im sure there will be plenty more to come. Looking forward to its release.

I'm guessing they are creating the last trilogy games from the fictional citites to the real ones,, so the next one might be Miami then Los Angerleas, San Francisco, Las Vegas ect

Should be a good game , i'd like to see them release more trailers and perhaps a few screens of what it looks like in game to see if the graphics are actually that good.

It's not New York by the way. Pause the trailer now and again and you'll notice everything being to do with "Liberty". It's Liberty City again.

Well what do you expect? The GTA gameplay is always Shoot. Kill. Smash. Shoot. Stab. Kill. Blow Up. Smash, Kill. Kill. Kill. Kill. Hot Coffee. Done. But the game is fun.

You might be able to fly to other places (liberty city to san andreas) like you do in one of the missions where you take out them italians :P

That was my point before because I knew there would be another after trailer was released.

Anywho, looking at the screenshots I have this to say:

Sweet, realistic graphics
'Ferry Terminal' - we had big planes (AT-400), now big boats <3
Skyscrapers <3
Who the hell is that main guy - I thought this was 'supposedly' a carry-on from VC?

I think I can understand why they haven't done europe. They most probably would have to cut up europe so that you cannot visit all the countries. Then they would have to seperate Mediterranean countries from European and Asian from European. If people want Europe, they would want it accurate, and this would be impossible, because, well, you would have to dump an ocean next to eastern european countries "/

Anyway, the game does look interesting.

In response to one of the posts above, Liberty City is and has always been Liberty City. They just don't use the actual city names, never have.

It looks brilliant, I wonder if the voice actor is Jean Reno like I thaught (from Leon). Anyway, I love tthat it's not another American guy (although Ray Liotta was great as tommy)

Jean rocks, but he's French and the character appears to be Russian. I'll check the vocal cast list...

Okay, there is no mention of him. Couldn't put the character's voice to his though.

Looking good :) I think it is New York, but they never have the real city names other than in GTA London :). There isn't a real suggestion that you will be moving from place to place in the game, in fact the character says "Maybe here, it will be different", which suggests he will be staying in that city and also ties in with the idea it is NYC - America being the land of hope and dreams and that is exactly what Italian Immigrants years ago would have thought when passing the Statue of Liberty and entering New York.

Further things that suggest it is New York:

Statue of Liberty
Empire State Building
GetALife building (or in other words the MetLife Building).

Liberty City has always been GTA's New York. So in that sense, it is. But it's definately Liberty City.

If you think about it...

rockstar never put the actuall names it represented ie liberty city : new york

so it will be based on new york but chances are it probably won't be called GTA IV:New York
