tbh people will get the required posts and stop posting, it wont really be active then still..

no, this is incorrect, people will post or once they hit 40-100 posts they'all say 'I dont want to post anymore' or somthink like that then i'll reward then


with all the posts we get on the forum, it makes us look more active, and more registers on our forum, EG today we had 2 registers because of this, (which is good for a new forum)


Also, I don't mind if people stoped posting, they have done what they have done, we have had a little under 70 registers in under 2 weeks - where happy.

You said it yourself. It would "look active," not "be active." An active forum is what gains members, not a forum that had aload of posts. If most the topics in your forum are, say, 2 weeks old. People won't join. They want an active forum, with recent threads. Other than an active forum, a good community and nice features.
