not really.

it's a term generally used for males who care about their appearance... almost an element of narcissism.

Most guys take care of their appearance, whether you're gay or straight, because generally people want to impress. The term "metrosexual" is the most stupid thing I've ever heard.

Metrosexuality is the trait of a sophisticated man who has a strong aesthetic sense and spends a substantial amount of time and money on his appearance and lifestyle. Though the term has undergone a transformation from its original meaning (a heterosexual man who appeared or acted as if he were homosexual), current trends have seen the metrosexual label placed upon masculinity's embracing of practices usually perceived to be feminine, rather than those specifically associated with the homosexual. Debate surrounds the term's use as a theoretical signifier of gender deconstruction and its associations with consumerism. Current gender scholars view metrosexuality as representative of the embracing of relational understanding in addition to its lifestyle and aesthetic implications.

It doesnt really need a word. Someone who takes care with their body and appearance is a sensible person.

'and spends a substantial amount of time and money on his appearance and lifestyle.'

it's more that, rather than just taking care of your appearance, which assumably most people do.

Its kinda a stupid term. Its for straight men, but who care about their looks and sometimes even act gay. There's a South Park episode about it thats pretty funny.

Im fine with it, whatever people want.

This new apprentice at work is one. He's a cool guy but everyone is convinced he's gay but he denys it.

if you read the above posts you'd realise the term elicits more than just taking care of your appearance. it's more vanity rather than just caring for yourself.

The abilty to walk past a vaigly shiny surface without haveing to check your hair shouldn't be underrated.

Pretty much. It isnt really simply caring about your appearence. Its really being feminine, but not gay.

Its ok for a guy to look good, I mean why not. But not overly obssesed though, till they are vain. Actually, these apply for both sexes tbh. Girls who overly care about their appearance is bad too

I don't judge a person by what they do with themselves.

I couldn't care less what I wear. I hate people to think they are hot stuff because every hair is in perfect order.

Why would it bother me? Lol.

I'd rather be a metrosexual and look good and actually have a degree of proudness in my appearance, rather than being some skank who looks like they've crawled out of a gutter.

First impressions count for a lot.

well, i make the effort to keep myself clean and neat, who doesn't really. it's called personal hygiene. but of course, i don't go around buying all sorts of products that will so-called 'beautify' my image and appearance. i don't really care tbh.

lol, and people who look at the mirror every 5 seconds annoy me.
