K So i maght start to produce CD's a bit like Now 64 or something for a school project and i was wondering if there is any legal stuff behind it. For egsample would i be able to put kaiser chiefs - ruby on the album and sell it for some money. im not very good with legal stuff so please help.

Well just like Dj's have to..
You have to buy the track legally from a site.. (not sure what one)

Then you have it in writing that you've legally bought that track.

Then your free to play it / use it.

Hope this helps. And i found this out by talking to a dj at a nightclub :p.. so i'm not talking ** ;)..

And btw if i find the site i'll tell you.

They are a company and they pay royalties.

They pay an amount set by the record company.. they own licenses and stuff.

For each compilation you have to have permission of the creator, this usually means you have to pay a great amount of money per song.

Tbh i wouldnt bother.
