Hey guys,

I was wondering (about online gaming on consoles), do you have to pay to play online on the Xbox 360?

If so where do you pay? How much? Every how often?

What about on the PS3?

If so where do you pay? How much? Every how often?

Thanks

Xbox360 = £39.99 per year or you can buy monthly.

You buy the subscriptions from game stores.

Edit:

But when you sign up to xbox live you get a free months gold subscription :P (that's without paying for a subscription)

I can't remember but.

For xbox 360.

- You buy the 12 months xBox live gold.
- Scratch the card, put it on your gamertag.
- Play online for a year, for about 34.99 I think it was. (Pounds)

Not sure about PS3.

You can get cards from.

-GAME
-PC world.
-HMV, (I think)

You can pay by Credit Card.

For some reason, I pay each month by month [£5 a month]

Ah thanks guys.

I have found out that the PS3 network is indeed free.

Microsoft are fighting very hard in this console war. If only they would put a bloody HD player in their console :@!

+rep to the posts above.

What I was thinking, PS3 internet may be free but the PS2's internet was free and that was terrible, rubbish connection, rubbish set up, took ages to do anything and worst of all it's piles of lobbies, lobby after lobby, no logins, just lobbies o.o

Well Hardware had a login, that was an alright game but that was about it, everything else "connect, find game, play for 30 mins, find another game"

Hardly any games had friends lists or anything :S

That is exactly why you pay for Xbox Live, a vastly superior service, well I may be a little biased but it's the truth.

To be quite honest I'd say you're entirely right, Xbox had a much better service from the day xbox live was released, you get more out of it, with PS3 it's basically just playing online with your friends, which is why it stinks so much, xbox live you play with friends, have friends lists, download arcade games, demos, videos PS2 was souly for playing against people which is ok but you want more out of something like that, that's what microsoft has given with xbox live, it does cost money for these people to keep there servers running which is why in my opinion PS3 internet will crash and burn just like PS2's did
