Why would he bother ripping something that is EXTREMELY simple to make? Don't over-rate your own work, seriously. It appears that he did make it, and if he didn't directly copy and paste (you have no proof that he did, either) then he hasn't ripped anything. This sort have thing has been done numerous times before, so no - it wasn't either of your original idea's.

I like it, it's nice.

I would say he made them himself, and didn't base them on your design, even if he did see it and got a little bit inspired, the design isn't close enough to need permission. Anyway, where did he get his hatch from, hmm? He didn't rip that.
