He went into hospital for a check about bleeding and it turned out to be an ulcer so we thought he would be OK. He was talking so much until the nurse tried to move him into his chair but he fainted and whacked his head onto the hospital tile floors. He stopped breathing and died but the doctors finally resuscitated him and put him in bed with some things to regulate his body fluids. He was breathing OK by himself and I thought he would get better. He then started talking to the nurse and looked a OK but he fell asleep and died just like that.

He was 87 but he had been smoking practically most of his life until 70 something.
I hated seeing my nan cry since she got so upset abd I never have seen her cry before.

What else can you do? You can't care for your nan all the time and some people don't like being in the middle of the whole family remembering and try to get away from it, in this case the internet.

Anyway, I am sorry to hear about your grandad :( Mine died two weeks back last Tuesday. It was horrible, but he did suffer towards the end of his life. So it was best it ended now. Your grandad died calmly, which is good :)

people sometimes look for an escape route to try & forget reality in a case like this as they want to try and get away from what has happened.

awww.
:[[
your very lucky though..
your grandpa died peacefully and not in pain..
mine shot himself in the head.
:''''[
he was taking a medicine that was making him go insane..
he made my grandma go to the neighbor's house..
my grandma called the police to come and they were trying to get him to quit.
and he was in the basement..
it was like a living room down there...
we had all our holiday gathering down there..
he thought the doctors were hurting him..
out to get him..
and he told one police man at the door...
"they're not on my side.."
and shot himself..
:''[
i will never forget that day..
:[[[
and when i found out this..
i was only 10..
and my grandma [my mom's mom] told me he died of cancer.
they didn't want to tell me yet..
the worst thing is that i couldn't go to the funeral..
it was pratically across the country..

Some people cope with deaths on their own. Infact, my grandad died on thursday and I locked myself in my room for a solid 12 hours. Everyone deals with it in their own way.

Hi, sorry to hear about you grandad, you should be thankful he died in peace, my nanna died 6 weeks ago today, and sadly she didnt go in peace.
She had a heart attack in december and then came out of hospital in january then went back in with nnemonia in febuary then her kidney's and heart failed. so she gave up the fight. Id suggest maybe listen to a song called ' in the arms of the angels by sarah mclachan it is a really touchy song. and it makes you feel that your grandad my nanna are watching over you.
