Don't you think bans which have been on a account for a year have learnt their lesson?Because well i may aswell say it lolol,I owned the account silvermerc and it got perm about 2 years ago...Or one lolol, and i was looking through the posts and thinking wo,I was soooo immature then but then again who isnt when there that young,But now i think why not unban accounts which have had over a year ban... Because the've had their punishment.

I think thats still a stupid idea, because if they find they're unbanned they'll just come back and be idiots as they were in the first place.

Why would there be a Permanent Ban option if this was the case? :S

Do you mind linking me to the part that says that? I don't really have time to go through it all.

I personaly dont want to re read it looking for a quote.

It says "a database of contacts". I am not sure if a Forum counts as this?

The act doesnt go into "bans" but it does go into digital saving of information. Old information (emails, dob etc) should not be kept unless they need to. If its permanent, then its unless.

Also: Think about it; how else is the data saved. In a mysql database "/

The accounts arent really personal details though, if its banned then id think it would be up to each website what to do with the old accounts they dont need.
I agree though they should be deleted so the names can be reused by someone else - i think this should happen to accounts that havent logged in in over a year aswell

Yes in a database, but this database isn't a specific contact database, as far as I am aware (I may be wrong). I just don't see how the permanent ban option is there, it would make more sense if the accounts were deleted straight away :S

Dont be silly. So your saying emails are not contact information.

Email the department as I cba informing you that is how it works (in the UK)

http://www.opsi.gov.uk/about/contact-us/index.htm or phone 0 20 8392 5277

So every time Habbo bans you the account should be deleted and then you can sign up again?

Also vBulletin is developed in Reading as Kier is the main man for it.

I didn't say that, I said that the Database itself isn't specific to contact details... as it suggests in the earlier link.

When you get perm banned on habbo, its not actually a perm, it lasts until like 2017 or something.

I think luckyrare is right, although there are ways around that. We need to keep the account banned for moderation reasons, so therefore the data is still serving a purpose.

Yes, I am pretty sure you will still need to remove the email and dob unless you intend on using that information. I dont know the act inside out but I am pretty sure after so long (if the data hasnt been used) then it has to be deleted.

They dont seem to care when Habbo gets hacked and information such as mobile numbers are given out, so i doubt it very much.

Perm means perm so what if your good on another account, it doesn't clear the fact that you must have broken the rules on the banned account.

but it does tho m8.

'Cus he's had a perm account before 'n i've had 3/4 ?'N we both been staff again so tbh its pointless
