i was just wondering would it be possible to increase the limit of the memory size for an avatar. cos its 58.6 KB at the moment, and tbh thats tiny. and i'm tryna upload an animated one, and it says it's too big. THIS IS FOR LIKE VIP ONLY cos i dno how big it is for members, not discriminating or anything so don't be hating xo.

and it's hardly much work.
about 10 seconds to post a simple, "yes we will sort this out", then 2 mins to go into admin cp and expand the image size.
or about 10 seonds to post, "no, we will not do this idea".

I would have replied sooner but I have only just opened the thread, as I didn't know it was about avatar sizes etc, since the thread title isn't very attracting. :P Anyway, the current maximum size for avatars at the moment is 58.6 KB, which I believe it small, so I'm with you on this idea. I'll let ---MAD--- know about this thread and I'm sure he'll edit the KB. As somebody else said, a new VIP feature is needed, so I'll also show nvrspk4 so we can come to a thorough conclusion and hopefully get the new idea underway.

+ Emails, instant features that platinums get (remember, there are only 24 platinum members out of the whole forum, so not many get the full features VIPs do), name changes which is a very big one, the special events from time to time, ability to buy rep+subforum.

I know you guys aren't very happy about the Platinum Members and subforum things, but the subforum thing was done because of performance issues, I know you guys don't want HxF to go down from an overload of forums, and the Platinum Members thing, well I wasn't a part of that and it was a decision made by the Forum Management. However, remember that of over 20,000 active members (and over 39,000 total members) - we're only 505 away from 40k! - there are 24 platinum members. Not that many people get the features VIPs get.

As for this thread's suggestion, I agree, we've been trying to do this for a while now. The only issue I see is performance, and we need to have a chat with our techies about whether the forum can handle the additional strain of raising the KB limit of VIP avatars. If they say we can, we will most certainly do so, and in our discussion I've said it should be for VIPs only, not for platinum members, so we'll see ;)

Agreed, all my best ones are under 100 kb, and increasing it to 100kb I think is reasonable enough. Anything bigger, put it in your sig.
