When you search a monster, theres a block called ratio under hitpoints.

Whats ratio? Is it the amount of exp you recieve per hitpoint?

Ratio
The ratio is the monster's hitpoints divided by its level. It will help you to determine how efficient it is to train on. The higher the number the better the monster is for training. For example, the Ice Giant (level 53) has 70 hitpoints. 70/53 = 1.32. The Ogre (level 53), on the other hand, has 60 hitpoints. 60/53 = 1.13. So by purely level to hitpoints it would be better to train on the Ice Giant, but remember you must take into account the average damage and the defensive capibilities of the monsters (something pure numbers can't tell you).

I found this in the how to use section

I always thought that the amount of defense a monster had was something JaGex chose, which is a number, all you need to do is look at the source files for the monsters to see what it is, guess that's rather hard for some though :P
