since you refused to change the black VIP back to normal on non-habbo skin. anychance of making it so when people use black font it displays white? it's annoying needing to highlight it to read it sometimes....

And some people use white font when it's hard for people for people to read on habbo skins... it's pointless when the font comes out white on non habbo skin and black on habbo skin anyway...

it's harder to read when it's not bolded...

Sadly, thats not phyiscally possible. Unless someone knows a way (which I don't) then we can't deal with it atm :(. I would have love to be able to change it so the black text turns out white or even grey.

Thanks

Yeah it's well annoying, MrLore does it and he knows we can't see it but he's too immature to stop it.

I actually never thought of using the variable replacements. I was thinking of css only. I guess the vBulletin staff member I asked thought the same way I did.

I will give the way the other vB staff suggested to you a go sometime soon.

can we change it back please? i preferred my usertitle being black and not white. and don't tell me to "CHANGE DA SKIN DEN" cos i can choose which skin i want, and if people are blind and can't see black writing on a GREY background, they should be the ones to change the skin.

Yeah, instead of [color="black"], use [color="#000000"].

Im slightly confused, if people choose to write in black, you want to convert it to white on a certain skin?
that kinda defeates the point of colour selection after all often people set the colour of text to the same as the background to hide it "/

But if you did want to, you could do it in just css? easyest in firefox (maybe ie with luck, no garentees since it doesnt even fully support css2)where you just use a little bit of css's conditional seclectors power....

Say for the dark skin a code like this would do it, since the code makeing it black to start with is "<font color="Black">"
you would use

font[color="black"] { color: white; }

font being the eliment and whats between the [] is the condition it checks for, aka it applys the css to any font tage containing the color="black" text.

More info about it can be found from w3 here: http://www.w3.org/TR/REC-CSS2/selector.html

:)

tbh i' dont see why we cant write in black 'cus its the BLACK skin 'n well so what? You should convert other text colours which you cant see on other skins such as 'Grey font' should be black or white.

Gotta make it ALL fair or NONE at all..

ok. if you remove the thing so that people's font colour changed to white then you should remove the thing that changes black VIP's names to grey.

Though doubt they are that nice.

they should remove the black code AND the grey names for black vip members. you CAN see the black font colour, and it's just awkward people who have to pick at little things complaining they "can't see it".

i've got a better idea so everyone is happy. why not just add another non-habbo skin where it shows font as white instead of black with black VIPs black instead of grey. and do whatever amy said with this one.

you can see the black if its in larger writing, like your anem is when you have VIP
so i say change the VIP grey code to black, but keep the black to white one for the forum

20-04-2007, 09:57 PM
oh, and if you do keep this thing. what if someone's colourblind? and they can't see one of the font colours on one of the other skins where it's brownish, would you change it then cos "they're unable to read it properly"?

Why are people allowed to use yellow on the light coloured skins? That is much more illegible

COLOR="#000001" works, but Mad'll probably get mad and stop that from working as well.

I only changed "#000000" because in some cases (ie the faq) we use that instead of black so it didn't work on it.

I hate it myself, tbh. Stop giving us features then removing them, havent you heard of TESTING?

I know you've got another forum to test styles on, why the HELL didnt you see something like this.

Forgodsake get some decent 'beta testers'. And as everyone said, it takes TWO seconds to highlight and you can STILL see all text clear. In the FAQ change what black text there was to grey or what ever, and remove the damn css code. "/

Its just making everything worse.

'As you "wouldnt be able to see it" therefor black is changed to white. Though as i said in the FAQ just change 'black' to ganother colour which is visable on all styles. :)
