Just contact customer support, should be a number in the manual, if you have warrenty then it's free and you just send them it and they'll either send a new one back or fix it, if no warrenty you have to pay like £80 or something for a repair

You could do that but I'm not sure if they'll take it back, they might who knows xD you did set it up and it was faulty so it's not your fault

Don't take it back yet, try this: http://uk.gamespot.com/forums/show_msgs.php?topic_id=24054545

If it doesnt work you could always try this:
http://gizmodo.com/gadgets/home-entertainment/how-to-fix-your-xbox-360s-3-red-lights-of-death-217686.php

(don't really do the 2nd one, might just make it worse)

They have to take it back, cause they've sold you faulty goods. They don't have a 'choice.'

I took it back but they didnt have any others to give me so I got my money back & went to PC world where my sister works and got discount, got it for 260 with a game and other things :)

Wouldnt that just block off the fans and make it overheat?

That's what you get for buying a Microsoft system :)

Anyway, your best bet is probably trying to get ahold of customer support, because there's no point in keeping the broken system really. Even if it does start working, the thing could be bugged, & better to get it replaced now before your warranty expires and it starts acting up on you.

If you was smart you'd probably turn the xbox off first :P
