PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page's value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. Im pretty sure the page rank is just based on the site previously useing the domain, googles bots most likley havent even crawled the new content, never lown updated the index to include it "/

Page rank isn't something you get for a certain word, google uses a large number of factors to determine where something should appear in search results, page rank is used mainly to determine the importants and usefulness of the page as a whole, not to determine its relevance to a particular search query.

Pagerank doesn't take many years, all you need is a backlink for a site with PR3+ and hope google crawls the page with the backlink before the next update.
