I guess that would be good for those mistakes but it'll probably lead to a lot of confusion and people would just abuse it.
They could insult people doing this and then just remove it.

Happens to me alot, but it still shouldn't be implemented. There is a plug in for this see here (http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=122592) the default limit on deleting reputation is 5 minutes, In that case this would be very useful as I can't see how it would be abused.
