I agree with Dave, it will be far more easier as for example, if somone knows alot about macs but not pc's they can just help out in the macs section that way its more tidy as well. :)

then you'd need to have forums for all mac versions and linux versions.

well you can do it like this, when posting a thread in windows forum they have to put [XP] or [Vista] in it so we know the OS, same as for linux [SuSE] [RedHat] etc

I think just th main forums for mac pc and linux would be a good idea but not then more subforums for each os would make the forum laggy

yeah, i was thinking that. that's why the vip sub-forums were removed.

like i said you dont need to make a seperate one i said each time you create a thread for the OS in choice you put the name there straight off [SUSE] etc
example windows forum:
[Vista] How do you remove UAC?
[XP] IE7?
linux forum:
[SuSE] YaST help
[Ubuntu] Wont install help?!?!?!

Why would we need to do that? We don't do that now and get along fine. Also, were you going to keep computer problems or just replace it with Windows, Mac and Linux general forums or what? Where will people discuss hardware?

I dont really think its a good idea, most O/S based topics have alot of cross over so placeing them would never really fit correctly.
It works fine as it is, adding more subforms just makes it harder to browse all the topics imo "/

Technolgy forum covers alot more arias than just the 3 major O/S's digital camras, mp3 playrs, hardware, gadgets or even the most obscure O/s's would no longer have a home?
Plus whats the benifit? it works fine as it is, most topics cross over alot anyway, and i dont get what your on about with the error? if someone has an error/problem they should be useing the computer problems forum anyway.

you some times get people saying oh do this for that when you cant now because some people are using vista and vice verca, or there maybe a problem with a mac but they just said oh i cant get on msn etc
