I enjoyed the opening ceremony, but that's about it. I'd much rather be on the PC, but sometimes I just leave the Olympics on in the background in my room.

I saw the mens 200m freestyle relay last night, it was the best event I've seen so far... In the final 200 Ian Thorpe was magnificent but the American had too much of a headstart to take the gold. British team did us proud though, coming 4th. Surprisingly China are still top of the Medal table with 10 golds, but America are leading the medal count with 21 medals.

There's been some amazing stuff over the last few days... Chris Hoy was magnificent, then Mathew Pincent and the boys clinched gold in the Mens 4, and Wiggins was really good in the one on one biking final thingy :p. I just hope Paula Radcliff can win gold for team GB later on today at 3:50pm.

Does GB have a football team that qualified for the olympics? Would be strange, to have a mix of scottish/welsch/northern irelandish and english players

No, due to the FA's league commitments GB doesn't enter the tournament, I'm not surprised with prior World Cup qualifiers coming up...

The football isn't very exciting because :

a) Every team are allowed only 3 players over the age of 23 but the rest must all be under 23.
b) Most players choose to participate in their club team's crucial opening league games.
