Peter Ebdon silenced those who criticised his slow play against Ronnie O'Sullivan by racing to a 6-2 lead against Shaun Murphy in the semi-final.
In contrast to taking five minutes for a break of 12 on Wednesday, Ebdon was taking as little as 13 minutes on his way to breaks of 78 and 70.
Murphy, playing his first game in the one-table environment at The Crucible, took a while to find his feet.
Ebdon's 93 break to take the final frame showed he meant business.
