Needing AJAX Help

Hey Guys,

Title says it all!

I need some help with AJAX.

This is for the usersystem I am building:

On the register page I want it to tell the person registering if the username is available or not (with a tick or cross) before they press Submit.

I think this is possible but i dont know how.

If you can help +rep! (and maybe a hc or two no promises!)

i dont know how to code it myself, but you will need to link it to some sort of database with all the currently registered people.

it may get quite complex because it will need to be dynamic so that it updates every time a new person registers

I will just connect it to the database :) then it can check for users if there is one it will say ERROR!! Lol

But i need the AJAX bit! :)
