View Full Version : Apoclypse - 2012. Belive it?

The purpose of this post is that the year 2012 will be pivotal, perhaps catastrophic, possibly revelatory, to a degree unmatched in human history.

Ancient Mayan prophecies based on two millennia of meticulous astronomical observations indicate that 12/21/12 will mark the birth of a new age, accompanied, as all births are, by blood and agony as well as hope and promise.
Since the 1940’s, and particularly, since 2003, the Sun has behaved more tumultuously than any time since the rapid global warming that accompanied the melting of the last Ice Age. Solar physicists concur that solar activity will next peak, at record-setting levels, in 2012.
Storms on the Sun are related to storms on the Earth. The great wave of 2005 hurricanes Katrina, Rita and Wilma coincided with one of the stormiest weeks in the recorded history of the Sun.
The Earth’s magnetic field, our primary defense against harmful solar radiation, has begun to dwindle, with cracks comparable in scale to the ozone hole opening up randomly. A pole shift, in which such protection falls nearly to zero as the North and South magnetic poles reverse position, may well be under way.
Russian geophysicists believe that the Solar System has entered an interstellar energy cloud. This cloud is energizing and destabilizing the Sun and all the planets’ atmospheres. Their predictions for catastrophe resulting from the Earth’s encounter with this energy cloud range from 2010 to 2020.
Berkeley physicists, who discovered that the dinosaurs and 70% of all other species on Earth were extinguished by an impact 65 million years ago, maintain, with 99% certainty, that we are now overdue for another such mega-catastrophe.
The Yellowstone supervolcano, which erupts catastrophically every 600,000 to 700,000 years, is preparing to blow. The most recent eruption of comparable magnitude, at Lake Toba, Indonesia, 74,000 years ago, led to the death of more than 90% of the world’s population at the time.
Eastern philosophies such the I Ching, Chinese book of changes, and also Hindu theology, have been plausibly interpreted as supporting the 2012 end date, as have a range of indigenous belief systems.
At least one scholarly interpretation of the Bible predicts that the Earth will be annihilated in 2012. The burgeoning Armageddonist movement of Muslims, Christians and Jews actively seeks to precipitate the final End-Times battleTHIS POST WAS NOT INTENDED TO SCARE OTHERS, THE FULL PURPOSE OF THIS POST WAS TO EDUCATE AND PROVIDE INFORMATION ON THE "WORLDS END".

The Bible has many accurate records of past events, just because you don't believe in all of it's teachings you shouldn't just pass it off as unreliable :) (although I don't believe it will have accurate predictions of when the world will end).
I personally don't believe the apocalypse will come that early, if it does, it does... but I think it would be wrong to make assumptions based on shaky predictions made by scientists and prophecies created by ancient civilisations ;).

No. 2012 is when the Habbos who were permed banned from 2001 will once again rise from the dead. It is said in the Habbo scripture that the ancestors of the new generation will once again roam the Hallway I.

6/06/06 is something people made up because of the mark of the beast. The bible actually says somewhere that not even Jesus Christ knows when the end of the world will come. Only God.

I think the Earth has many options for dying:
1) A nearby star goes supernova, wiping us out
2) We are inevitably sucked into a blackhole, OR when one of the tiny blackholes in the core expands the Earth will basically implode

As well as solar storms, destruction of the atmosphere, being hit by space objects, breakdown of the ecosystem etc. etc.

I like to think of science and religion as co-operative rather than contradictory. Who's to say God didn't start the big bang? Who's to say God doesn't manifest himself in the order and logic that keeps the universe together? I don't really believe in some bearded guy, but I believe in an entity.

Tis possible, but seems unlikely. Looking at the world, something thought of as a creator seems fictional at best. If only someone was around and strangely alive today who could tell us what happened when the world was created... Granted he would either be sizzling hot or Adam and Eves forgotten brother Steve, but that's besides the point :P

I don't think anyone wants to, bar those who commit suicide I guess. Everyone has a subconscious and conscious fear of death, which is more a fear of what happens after death. I'm sure everyone would like to think there is just a single afterlife where people can live in harmony. Some people also believe there is nothing, which is feared because it's difficult to comprehend a state of non-existence. Equally feared is the Heaven/Hell theory that is the raw basis of most religions, which, even though they may deny, I'm sure everyone fears because right now you wouldn't know whether you're on course for Heaven or Hell, and I doubt anyone wants to face eternal punishment in Hell. And there's some others, like reincarnation etc. I dunno what Mayans believe though, so whatever.

The main flaw with that theory is its a christan one, since no actual scientifc theory includes that happening without an explination as to how. Christans often just dont bother actualy reading the theorys so make up there own and claim thats what scientists are claiming.

Maybe but not on the same scale of extremism. I wouldn't follow the dogma of the Church though, they make the rules up as they go along.

Christanty has had more extremists in it than any other religion, even those that far predate it, hell theres more terrosit acts done between christan's and other christants than there is between muslims etc. Take the problem with northen islands chathlics and the english protistents, even now its not completely solved.

Alot more people were killed in the crusades than in 9/11 also you may want to remember. Christanty is the wrong religion to pick if you want to claim anothers got more exstreemists or comits more terroist acts or commits more violents. Dispite jesus's message of turning the other cheek, it has a habbit of wageing war and killing people.

It depends whether you judge a crime by what is done or by the 'context' it's in. Religions will always be at war with each other, despite every religion preaching 'peace' in their Holy book.
