Thats right.
Appearently Bush just vetoed some bill and hes pulling the USA out of iraq.
It was just on the American news..

I guess they're going to be fully out by October.

Haha, no we're not. You heard the news wrong. Congress passed a bill that says we have to pull out of Iraq by October 2008, but Bush is vetoing it. We're staying. However, congress will not pass anymore funding to the war until he sets up a timetable, so they're bickering about it.

mmhmm.

You got it backwards, sorry.

Congress wanted to set a date for withdrawal, and Bush vetoed the bill.

Veto = Disregard. He's disregarding their timetable to pull out.

I also disagree with a timetable, it will cause unrest but what can get worse I suppose?

The whole war was totally wrong.

Surely Congress could override the veto. Just hope they get the two-third majority they need.

Surely Congress could override the veto.
That would defeat the point of the veto...

Not enough votes. There's a democrat majority, but not enough to override it.

Actually, that's part of how the US political system works. Vetos can be overridden.

RedStratocas, I can only hope that Republican rebels will come out in droves and help end the catastrophe that is the Iraq war.
