Isn't really a good time to advertise paid for shoutcasts at the moment with two people giving away lots of free shoutcasts, best to wait until they get old before you advertise.

I have a reseller hosted by ThisNameWillDo! and it is a very good and fast server with full control over shoutcasts!

I would trust you because I've heard good things about your services before. But I don't need one.

Closel and HotelUser are both giving away free shoutcasts, they are not old or bumped threads.

Free shoutcasts are normally bad quality because there are too much of them on one server, that is why it is better to pay for a shoutcast most of the time.

Good point but this guy seems like he's getting more interest for free shoutcasts than any other thread that i've seen before. Mabe he's trusted or something? (Talking about Closel)

Exactly, the more servers he gets, the slower his servers are..

ROFL!

My server is not slower at all and is just fine.

Sorry, but I think you're just trying to get people to pay for your servers.

We've got to face facts here... the more anything you have on your server, the slower it's going to be. That is the main reason most people setup shoutcasts on a separate server, to prevent the server being slowed down.

Ridiculous.
"We've got to face facts here..." sorry but that just sounds like you are trying to get people to buy from you because my server is "free" and is that suppose to be a bad thing?

It will hardly slow down my servers at all.

Come out with it, nothing wrong with wanting people to buy from you, but don't make it sound like having a free one is bad.

The arguement occuring before pose two equally justified comments.

However, both are slightly inaccruate.

Having 10,000 shoutcast servers may effect the server load slightly (and i mean minutely)

However It is not the server load you should worry about, it is the port's durability.

An average server port holds 10Mbps - 100Mbps, if you exceed this your port will flood and your server will drown itself. (Literally)

Causing Crashing / BAd quality streaming... the rest is can be presumed.

So Go ahead host 2,000 shoutcasts on a server for free. IT may work for a couple of hours as the port maintains multiple streams. But sooner or later, it will sink.

Watch the ports guys.

Goodluck.
