Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has been fined £2,500 and severely censured by the Football Association.
Although the French tactician denied the FA's charge of improper conduct and/or bringing the game into disrepute, he was found guilty.
The charge relates to Wenger's comments about one of the assistant referees following February's Carling Cup final against Chelsea.
Wenger claimed the assistant referee 'lied' in his report over the mass brawl which marred the final, a game which The Blues won 2-1. However, Wenger has now been hit with a fine after the commission judged that the use of the word 'lie' constituted improper conduct.
