i have them today and i'm fairly worried, i think they just depend on the set you're in next year for gcse.

they do decide sets, but you can move up and down groups if you do better/worse. all they are is to show how well the school is doing, they're the exact same as yer 6 sats, nothing to worry about tbh.

Yes they do but not much , they decide what sort of papers you take for GCSE's , if you do bad in SATs you get put into a lower set and won't be tuaght as much therefore effecting your GCSE grade , if you get less then a C then your very unlikely to get a good job

Not serious at all. You're making them out to be the be all and end all. If you do bad in SATs then you will start off in lower sets for GCSE but if you do well on modular exams then there is no reason why you won't be moved up. The schools is there to do what is best for you. If that means teaching you until you get a D then fine, if it means teaching you for an A, also fine.
You shouldn't skip them though, still important to test the school o.O

They count on your sets for next year, they're pretty pointless because next year you will be moved around if they think you're not in the right group anyway.
We got made to take them, told us they'd put us into sets, but no, we got put into mixed classes anyway  So it was oh so very pointless.

What do you mean "got made to take them" they are complusary anyway, the school doesn't have a choice.

Well, you get what I ment. After all the stress of being told they are really important, they deemed to be pretty pointless in the end.

Seriously, if worsts comes to the worst, you'll be put in a low set (If they put you in sets..), and then in January, you start having modules, there is a science one, then followed by a maths one, and english well I have english exams this week I guess this will move people around.
It's GCSEs you need to worry about, and you don't have them for a longggg time yet.

SAT's aren't important, they just show how well the school is doing and what you know and don't know.

They are if you think about them in the long term, for example at my school we do modular maths and each set does a different module based on their ability and you have to pass one to go to the other so if you done bad in your maths SAT then and was placed in a lower set you would be doing lower maths modules and wouldn't be able to acheive as high as a grade you could.
