The forum has been dying over the last couple of months, and then this has kicked it all off again and it's going to turn out propper crap.

So what?
Take the financial / business world for examples; some shares can go down one day but increase another - as with the forum.
HabboxForum overall is going uphill rather than downhill as if you didn't come on here - where would you go?
I remember a forum that tried to exceed HabboxForum called `GeneralBlabber` - look where that went.
I guess, HabboxForum has it's good days and it's bad days but in a way, you rely on the forum.

In reply to the guy above, I like Habbox Forum - just some staff I don't, which have made a bad move.

Pmsl at that. GeneralBlabber was only a side project and wasn't aimed at Habbo therefore a different audience altogether. And were would I go? I haven't been on this forum in ages to let you know.. I have been high staff in the past seen it all before..

Habbox has one of the strongest fan bases' for Habbo and is certainly one of the highest for any MMOCC/MMORPG.
It will always have that, unless it shuts down of course, but apart from that it will always have a great fan base.

True again, as you say "but apart from that it will always have a great fan base.", it's the users that make HxF what it is.

The forum is going downhill, I have spoke to so many people recently about Habbox and all of them have told me how pathetic it is getting. I love Habbox but the forum is being destroyed because of certain people. You can't compare General Blabber to Habbox because General Blabber was a site made for friends.

Habbox makes money, a lot of money - if you don't do your job right then you get fired - simple.
Habbox's aim is to make money at the end of the day - exactly what a company does.

Habbox is popular and has done well to build up popularity. I'm talking about the quality of Management and the site, many people have told me that the quality of Habbox has gone down tons but they still visit because of friends. Habbox is good but it's going downhill and many members agree. Obviously it's opinion but thounsands of members opinions are in the conclusion that Habbox is going downhill.

If you have a complaint about a staff member you PM nvrspk4 about it. If you have a problem about an assistant manager, you PM the manager of that department. If you have a problem with the manager, you PM sierk or the GM (atm there isn't one so that doesnt apply atm). If you have a problem with the AGM you can PM sierk.
Usually though if its a manager or above, you should talk to them directly via PM and try to come to a conclusion, if that doesnt work, try someone hired than that person you have a problem with :).
Hope that helps.
Btw, we never fire people for voicing their opinion if its voiced in an appropriate manner (not rude / threatening etc).
Most other sites delete threads that complain about anything, we obviously dont as you can still see this thread ;).
Thanks

I did not cause trouble and I was not rude. 11 out of 14 moderation/AFM staff were very disatisfied with your management skills and a thread was posted, not by me, to try and sort it out. It was not in the open forum it was in the Mods forum. Instead of listening to our views and considering it you moved the thread out of the forum and dismissed 2 mods. Please post anything here that was rude. Thanks :]

These types of thread pop up all the time, in a weeks time you will all be back buying your VIP and making countless numbers of threads. I don't think its going downhill, it probably has its most active members ever. You all say about the old Habbox, more older people used the site then such as Jrh, Mizki etc.., now its full of gobby 12 year olds, its not the site that has changed its the people that use it.

Ok I'm going to make a statement before I read all the posts, then I'll reply again. I've read 86 pages of stuff just on all this at last count between staff forums and here, so I figure might as well say something now.
I think that the events of today are verging on ridiculous, however its not the time to give up on it. Mistakes will be made, but the best thing to do is to fix them, and hopefully that will be done, whether it will be is up in the air as of now.
If anyone really wants to know where I stand, Catzsy and Dan have my support as I feel it was rather silly but I won't go on about that as that would be breaking the rules wouldn't it :P
Regarding MAD, I think he is trying to do what he thinks is right, I just don't think it is so and there are certain things about him that makes such recongizance possible. To be fair to him, we all do have our flaws.
I do not think Habbox is lost, persay, but I do believe the current trend is downward and hopefully something will be done soon, as it always is, and of course the slide will be stopped soon enough, the way I see it is will Habbox be what it was before the original slide, as opposed to will it slide off the map.
I will probably reply again when I see all the posts.

I am really getting freaked out, I am uber old by this forum but I am one of the younger members of staff. I FEEL SO OLD!
Just some points about the "good old days", for those talking about Alice, she was indeed amazing, but for those talking about "higher management" you must remember that it was basically managers then GM, and properclone was great and didn't need to be replaced.
Since the thread has mellowed a bit, I'll only quote this one post as I strongly disagree.
Habbox makes money, a lot of money - if you don't do your job right then you get fired - simple.
Habbox's aim is to make money at the end of the day - exactly what a company does.
Sorry Adam, but I completely disagree with your bolded statement. Habbox's aim is NOT at all to make money, it is to provide a place for people to enjoy, discuss, and debate Habbo and other matters in an organized community. Making money is solely to allow the server to function and Habbox to continue. Furthermore, most of the staff's jobs are to enhance the free service, not to make money. If you really wanted to argue the point, it is entirely arguable that the only ones who's jobs are really to do with making money are mine and Wayne's.
Also, though I don't agree with you, I can respect you for standing against the many :P

Meh, my memory's of back than are far more vaige, probably because i was still pretty noobish those times, the main member of staff i see as noticeably missing though, is JackHB as he used to be such a large character on the forums in those days and was able to to work the forum in a far more light hearted and humorous way.
Now days, at least from my prospective, it all seems far more business like, there seems to be no room for practical jokes (as i remember jackhb pulling on many occasion) or anything not strictly following a set load of rules. Which is a shame, my preference being for more personal forums over the more corporate type which habbox in my opinion has slowly morphed in to since i first joined.
I dont know if you'll agree, but way back when it seemed far more like the site was run by a group of friends who got on really well, than the current circumstances where the staff seem to be just that, Staff.
But meh, im just reminiscing :p

Which is why i miss the old days, jack who i keep talking about kinda for filled both of those, seacat was also quite similar to that back then, although now days he seems to have sank in to the background somewhat, which is a pity in my opinion, but again meh.
Wiredly enough although i dont use habbo myself, it kinda mirrors habbos own progress, from the very personal free and friendly community where long standing habbos became hobbas, and worked purely to help maintain the communty they liked so muhc, to now days where theyve been completely replaced with the proffessional Moderators, whom beoned keeping the peace dont really interact with the hotel at all (to my knowledge) "/

I think sierk is part of the problem, he allows the control freaks to ruin the site and he just goes along with it.
I haven't see any other fansite with this many management problems.

Loving it, it makes them look even more stupid by banning people whom speak the truth against them.
In a week or so they'll probably say "changes to management blah blah... etc" but it'll still be the same.

I dont know if you'll agree, but way back when it seemed far more like the site was run by a group of friends who got on really well, than the current circumstances where the staff seem to be just that, Staff.
But meh, im just reminiscing :p
Hi :)
I rarely check this forum anymore, but the title of this thread caught my eye. When I first became a member of Habbox, back in February or March of 2004, the site was tiny in comparison to today. It had around 300 odd members, and sierk had only in the previous months become responsible for running the entire site.
This forum is a new one, and if you check my date of joining and my membership number you will see just how huge this forum has grown in around 3 years. In the first six months this forum didn't even have 1000 members, and the staff here are as you say above, a group of friends that knew they could rely on one another for support here, but we still all acted in a professional manner. We worked together as a team, and to be fair with such few members and less forums, less threads and obviously less posts it was much easier for everyone to control and to moderate.
At the time this new forum was created jrh2002 was Forum Manager (The most professional Forum Manager in my opinion whilst I was staff), but as the forum grew, obviously more staff were needed. The radio was acquired in August 2004 and jrh2002 needed to devote his time to that, and so the beginning of recruiting more staff just to moderate and support an ever growing forum began. Sierk still continued as he does today to manage the entire site.
When I quit in October 2005, I think there was between 13-14 thousand members here. JackHB, properclone and Anita, who all joined Habbox at a similar time to me were still here when I left, although I can't be to sure about Anita. DJ-3000 who joined the team later created his own forum and in my opinion should he read this won't mind me saying that he could not of coped with this forum and his own new one.
This forum hasn't stopped growing, it still attracts new members, and you above are all apart of this forum. It's not just the staff that make this forum work, it's the members too. So just stop and think for a moment how hard it must be to manage such a huge site, if you were Manager of this site, could you possibly look at every single thread and post that is created? No you couldn't. There are always going to be changes on a site this huge, sometimes you might not approve whilst other times you will.
One person has remained here all the time, right from the start, sierk, that is what I call real dedication. If sierk decided he had, had enough, and closed this forum and the site where would you go to complain then?
This site may not be official, but it's certainly the biggest Habbo fansite to my knowledge, so instead of knocking it, perhaps members should be thinking of ways on how to help improve what they feel is wrong, rather than create a thread like this one, that quite honestly just shows that some members are unhappy and yet they still visit the forum ;)

Okay im not gunna compete with that..
BUT HERES MY STORY LOLS
I think its like NEARLY 3 years since i first tuned into DJ mizki on habboxradiooooo *god i still hear that voice LOL* - sorry hyper
Well, at the time, staff got on really well - there was a wide variety of staff at the time, as by the time i had come bouncing along on Steph=04= the forum had had time to grow. At that time habbox was official.
However, i was unfortunate enough to experience and see the whole "anti-habbox" charade that started - after habbox became unofficial. Wasnt much good - and we had a lot of staff resigning due to "hiccups."
Throughout my time on this site ive went from noob - to hxhd staff - to moderator - to comps manager - to dj - to radio assistant manager - i did at one time try a room review trial but didnt get past the first week cos i didnt think i was good enough ;)
But if i was to give a true honest opinion to your question - id say no.
The site / forum has not gone "downhill" i just see that it has changed - and a great lot too. Everything changes, somethings for the worse, but this site definatley has not - it has only improved and just got better and bigger and a whole lot more interesting!
The amount of talent that is on this forum is amazing. When i look at articles i see mini journalists developing their skills the best way they know how. I see future radio DJs developing their skills, making great shows come our way, and entertaining a whole community. I see competition staff practising their creativity and their imagination.
I dont just see a website or a forum, i see a huge community of all different kinds of ages, backgrounds, interests, all doing the same thing. Developing, improving and growing up. Preparing themselves for the big wide world out there, and they were all there for each other, giving each other support.
This isnt just a forum, and it most certainly is not going downhill.
This is just one car, part of a huge rollercoaster, because thats exactly what life is.

That's what you think. Sierk does a lot more than that I can assure you.
Management (like in most cases) are doing their work behind the scenes. Discussing things with other managers, dealing with problems etc. Announcement is the very last part of the long process of decision making. Just because you don't see exactly what happens behind the scenes, does not mean people are doing nothing, just sitting on their chair staring at the screen or watching TV all day :).

If anything, annoying little brats with to much to say like YOU are the problem! The forum would be a wonderful place without people like you :)
Now go run along with all the other gobby little friends and throw your dummy out the pram.
Anyway; I agree with what mentor and MissAlice have been saying about Habbox and the friendship group that was there.

The only very minor thing is that no one has dealt with the Rep issues for ages, but that's not a big problem at all, about as important as a slightly misbehaving member.
Other than that, it's the same as 1wdc said, these threads always get made, and it still lives to tell the tale "/
I also find the logic behind the "We can no longer close threads by normal members because VIPs can do it with their exclusive powers/tools" a bit barmy or non-existent. As Moderators, isn't it your duty to work with the community of the forum? Not over-rule them with silly rules?
VIPs can do it in a few steps, for a members, it takes a few steps and about a day for a reply or action taken "/

I wanna point something out to everyone.
About a year ago (thats if my memories are correct) Habboxlive maybe got around 10 listeners. Maybe 20 if they are lucky. After a few months, the radio would hmm maybe about 40? If DJs posted in announcements and Habbox today.
Now look at it? I dont often listen to habboradio's but i know for a fact Habbox is the second best habbo radio (statistics and its position on habbar tuner).
That to me is only part of how much habbox has improved.
If anyone can turn around and say "that isnt accurate"
then please shoot me where i am standing.
Another example to me is the fact that yes, habbox may have hit a hard spot, especially when i first took over as competitions manager *god knows when that was* maybe 2 years ago?
Things were pretty hard in the comps department and when i left, i was practically on my knees with how much i tried putting into it, and how little i got out. But look at the competitions now!
Jed whisked in, has donations coming, competitions coming out, even the lotto is still running!
That to me, is a great example of how great habbox is. As a staff / management member i did notice changes, but now, and maybe quite a few months ago whilst i still was staff, Habbox is doing extremely well.
Ive saw 1 or 2 posts where people have said "managers dont get on, they argue" =/ well duh? O_o everybody argues with someone. Just look at school. You might argue with someone, your friends might argue with other people. everybosy argues? We're human for crying out loud.
Do you expect us to be falling over each other trying to help each other out? Everybosy has their differences, and everybody gets agnry. Especially if we have pressure put on or we're stressed.
Theres exams coming up! theres already been SATs for the 13 - 14 yr olds.
Theres GCSEs on for the 15 - 16 year olds
and theres A level exams for the 17 - 18 year olds.
Do you expect us all to be playing god's gift?
If you open your eyes and look at kids in school, theres people stressing over revision, they snap at you, they snap at the teachers, the teachers snap at you, they snap at each other.
in my school definatley its a teachers warzone.
teacher 1: can i borrow such n such for a little while?
teacher 2: NO THEY'RE IN MY LESSON TALK TO THEM LATER
its like a nuclear bomb =/ BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM
If you can raise your hand and say "i have NEVER had an arguement, been rude to someone, snapped at someone, or got stressed"
then im sure everyone will agree THAT PERSON IS THE NEXT JESUS CHRIST!
Jeez! Why dont you guys stop complaining?
If you think its going down hill TRY DOING SOMETHING TO STOP IT!
dont go posting round DO YOU FINK HABBOX HAS GONE DOWN HILL?!?!?! I DO OMG THE MANAGERS OMGZZZ YOU SEEN THE STATE??!?!
Oh just grow up! If you dont like it then lump and get out of here.
If you choose so stay then stop your god damn winging - SOME PEOPLE GET OFFENDED YOU KNOW!
When guys have had over 3 years experience with Habbox, THEN YOU CAN FORM AN OPPINION. But until then, get on with it and just stop your complaining, half of you dont have a clue about anything and only think about yourselves and not others.
If you sat there and spent your free time making a forum and a website, would YOU like it if someone came along saying "EWW ITS GONE DOWNHILL EWWWW YOU PICK CRAP MANAGERS" i dont think so.
if YOU have a problem with a manager, and dont think they are doing their best THEN DONT TRY MAKING IT PUBLIC! Act like a grown-up and talk to
8freak8 or Sierk about it.

The forum is awesome, some of the users and the topics are too. However nothing lasts forever and I think Habbox has had it fair share of users and events as it's been running an awful long time. I still think that it won't be going downhill for a long time yet it gets over 200 users on-line a day.
There are so many dedicated people to this forum and the management must make an awful lot of money from all the purchases etc, I mean some people sell there Habbox Forum account for real money. Does that not say how popular the forum is and how well it is going for people to be buying them?
Some of the staff on the forum are up their own backsides and others for the that matter and 1 or 2 senior staff can seem to me as just down right arrogant, if you don't agree with something on the forum you face a ban. Says it all really.
On the other hand the forum at this time could be coming less popular because of recent SATs and current GCSEs and of course it is coming up to summer so people will more than likely be outside than playing on Habbo and posting on HabboxForum. It amazes me how users from 2004 when the forum opened are still active today, I didn't even know about Habbo back then never mind Habbox.

Great point made there, I didn't know about Habbo in 2004.
Plus lately i have been doing my SATs, and revising to the best of my ability. I haven't been on much. I'm guessing more people care about the GCSE's instead of a Habbo forum.
this forum is not going down hill, and as Danny said this is a very popular forum with 200 members, not many Forums get this everyday.
