Don't have crackdown, or a wireless router.. basically no connection!
Unless there is some circumstances that you don't need a router..

I've been playing most of today :P It's awesome and I just plugged my 360 into the network hub in my room, works fine from that, depends if you're on a network with 2 or more computers though..

Not that I know of, some people get a message saying it's expired but if you turn Crackdown off and on a few times it works fine

So is the date mentioned in the article below a date by which time you have to download the BETA to use it or is it a date that after which point all BETA games will be removed until the actual release?

It's when the BETA ends, it was extened to the 10th because of the Crackdown issue, when it hits the 10th I guess the option on Crackdown disappears and all servers shut down until the 25th September

So on the 10th the BETA will stop working until the 25th of Sept, leaving only 20 days playing time?

I haven't downloaded yet, cos I cba at the minute. I never really liked Halo 2, couldn't get into it. Although I was kinda excited about Halo 3 beta cos of the hype. so is there much difference to Halo 2 to convert me?

Graphical updates (guns, character models, vehicles and environment)
New guns (brute spiker, a gun that seem justs like the rifle from Halo 1, spike grenades, bubble shield, take the mounted guns and use them in third person mode as walk about weapons)
New vehicles (mongoose, more are in the final but we only get to beta with the mongoose)
New maps which are AMAZINGLY detailed even though it's just the beta :P
Matchmaking has improved so your matches are more balanced, you do get the odd person that's really good but purposely drops to level 1 to play against lesser experienced players

Bungie have really outdone themselves, despite the fact that its only a BETA :D

I just love team slayer tbh :P it's fun, easier than other modes I think, only problem is you're team very rarely helps you out, it's like team solo slayer or something, and then the enemy attacks your base on Valhalla, fun though, I'm not too bothered about my level, I want to get my rank up cause that looks cooler but it's more about the fun right now :P gonna expect an achievement like

Spartan Elite - Complete mission mode on Legendary Difficulty - 50-100 Gamerscore
Multiplayer Champion - Gain rank level 50 online - 25-50 Gamerscore

or something like that xD

Lol I'm Corporal right now, it's really good though. I've played around 25-26 matches and my total skill is like 9 now. :> I usually play the Slayer mode, I feel that Team Slayer is just a tad bit annoying when you have people; A) betraying you or B) getting in your way and overall being annoying. I prefer to go solo.. and it pays off. :D

My first map was Snowbound, even though I've been playing Valhalla and High Ground quite a bit (HG especially, even though it's annoying lol) and I was like, "Wow these graphics are amazing, and I haven't even got HD!" It's that good. Anyone who ain't got it, get it. :)

It was a pretty good match for me since I was only just getting the hang of it, and I hadn't played Halo in what.. a couple of months? I think I've had 2 games on Halo 2 Multiplayer and thats it, so pretty good for 3rd time. :P

EDIT: Whoa.. Seems I've never played one match, according to Bungie anyway.

Team Slayer, then Slayer with Shotguns and Snipers. It' is by far one of the best modes, trust me. :D

Play it when you get the chance, it's insanely fun on Snowbound and Valhalla, not so much High Ground. Try grabbing the turret on the building off High Ground, you can detach it and run around with it; so funny ;D

Hehe, I usually carry a shotgun and a sniper, or a shotgun and brute shot. The game is so easy to adapt to!

Wow, i'm surprised, I really didn't think i'd like it. But damn it's bloody awesome! I'm new to Halo games and I must say it's easy to get used to, i'm getting fairly decent kill death ratios.

Whiney children who couldnt take when i made the odd kill on them occassionally as well as the whole 'OMG ur m0dding' crap that people constantly get accused of and the thing where some people turned off their modem half way through a game so that only they could move, think it was called standbying or something.
Bah, im not too good at it and theres no way ill reach a corporal or anything higher but i play for fun and enjoy it as much as possible :D

If you get Crackdown make sure you buy the extension pack from the marketplace, theres nothing more rewarding than harpooning a gang member to his own car then driving it around for all to see :D

I love doing that, find the smallest possible car then harpoon as much as you can to it then drive around it's funny watching the physics RTW used for bodies xD

It gets really hard as you get further, I can hardly get a kill cause there's those super expert players that make themselves a low level so they only play against noobs which makes it almost impossible to get any higher

I know, it does get ALOT harder. If you check my stats, I was on team training with a party and I had like 6 in a row losses.. I was rather annoyed. I also got to play CTF which I didn't even think was on there after playing a day or so!

Yea I just can't believe how level 1 - 3 EASY level 4 you're up against level 13's WTH then level 5 you can barely kill other level 5's, I think the "experience" is screwed, pros gain skill levels WAY too slow so they end up fighting people that are not pro

I think it'll be alot better when the game comes out, it's just the fact that most people are not going to be low-ranked now as they would've been playing for a few days. It should change when the actual game comes out, we'll get more players than in the BETA. I do hope that our stats get transferred..

I think they're gonna reset but we'll see, I really hate some people in Rumble Pit (Slayer) when they team up and just take the lead =/
