I suggest you stop making assumptions.

The male popularity dominates on this forum in my experience.

Thats correct. There are far more males on this forum I believe and definitely far more males are interested in being moderators :).

I think he'll make a good mod too, just they're hiring everyone, so it's going to make people shut up about the 'not enough mods' thing.

I am surprised that recruitment policies are actually based on assumptions.

The system for moderating the forum is pretty much up to scratch but there is really no policy on Human Resources.

There have been some very good mods recruited through the report post and recommendation system but quite honestly it can hardly be called anything near equal opportunities as pms to people/friends to report posts is easily done. The site is seen as male dominated in the moderation section and hasnt really addressed that issue. Who is to say with a more open policy there wouldnt be others that also would not be just as good?

I would suggest that a section is written about recruitment and equal opportunities in the FAQ
link:
http://www.habboxforum.com/faq.php

I suggest this so new members of either sex can see what opportunities could be on offer to them in any of the jobs available.

A well known popular website like this should be seen to uphold its own rules about discrimination and fairness unless you are saying that girls are not capable of helping to mod/run a forum?

They have picked some experienced, mature people for these positions atleast, I'm glad about that =]

Yes i absolutely agree with you and they will do a very good job I am sure. All I would add is that all other departments recruit by open applications and it is noticeable that there are more girls within those sections.

Well i see what you are saying but is there any evidence to suggest this is true?

With more information and publicity available for all, as I suggested, your theory may well be proved right but the system should be seen as transparently fair, I believe.

Sorry, Roboevil, it looks like the thread has been hijacked a bit but I am replying to a post by the FM. Congrats, again:)

As much as i love you Catzy, i think that if female members of the forum reported posts and met the criteria then they would be hired.

I think all that is being said is that not as many girls do report posts etc dont think anyone is being unfair to females, coz we all know certain female members of the forum are some of the best here ;)

Okay, can you quickly link me to where it gives the information that tells members the criteria for recruiting mods because if members don't know then how can they do it? It is a pretty important part of the forum system so FAQ would be the ideal place.

All I was suggesting was to give more publicity so that members are aware of the recruitment system not to hire more girls because the FM and Aight may well be right but this does not mean that it is an area that should be neglected =]

You do see where I'm coming from.. Like its evident that not many girls use Habboxforum as guys, 1/2 dont even play Habbo and are in the "social" area of habbox. the other half just use it for trading. there is a small portion that do want to work on the forums, it just seems more appealing for guys to do it if you get me.. i cant explain :P

i totally agree with you then, that the way in which MOD's are selected should be more open to members, then at least people who really want to become Moderators can know what they would have to do/be like to become one.

Yes I can see what you are saying and respect your view but the issue is still valid I believe and with just a new section being written for the FAQ it would be solved and it would probably take less than 30minutes.There would, then, be no excuse for anybody not going for it if they wanted to . Has the Fm got an opinion on this as my post was addressed to his post?
