im 18 and still get the odd spot
its down to what you eat,
drink plenty of water, dont ******* touch it ,
dont buy anything like clearesel as they spread the spots to make you buy more...
drink water and have hot showers then rinse your face with cold water from the sink, this opes the pours, cleans them and closes them.

I must admit, my diet is pretty crap. I eat lots of sugary foods, fizzy drinks and crisps. Could this be contributing to the problem

Does it have to be at them times, or can it be like all in the morning? And how long will it take before I notice the change in skin
Elw00d

best to balance it out thru the whole day..
and should notice the change in a day or two, dont expect it to go completely.. your bound to get a few spots over puberty, this is just a way that helps it stop spreading etc.

Because of the mint thing inside it allows the skin to "breath", if you like..

I have heard of them before, how do you get rid of them
They're the start of a spot, where the dirt/grease clogs the opening of the pore. If you leave it the pore will try to secrete oils which won't be able to escape due to the blockage, causing it to swell and fill with "white yucky stuff" :P
It sounds yucky but you can get rid of them by squashing the skin on either side with your nails, forcing the dirt out. Then wash the skin as usual.
I have quite severe acne on by back and shoulders and am taking antibiotics which you can have prescribed by a GP (or, in my case by a dermatologist), but it doesn't sound like yours are nearly as bad. Just wash your face thoroughly and tackle the blackheads early :)

I heard toothpaste works well on spots, personally i've never used it so if it goes horribly wrong do not blame me.
Don't use a "spot cream" but instead of washing your face with soap get like a special face cleaner thingy. I use this stuff and i've not had a spot in agesssss, it works well. Soap on your face don't help.

although your diet and amount of water u drink DOES affect how many spots u get, its not always the case. i eat healthily and always have done, i drink water throughout the day with a couple exceptions and have fresh air. but getting spots can be hereditary, so theres a few unlucky people out their like me who can eat healthy, drink water, have a healthy lifestyle and still have to work really hard to keep their spots at bay.
it sucks tbh.
i dont have loads, and most i do have can be hidden by makeup, but i dont have perfect skin and i hateee it.

Try sudocrem on your spots. within a few days you should see a difference.
And just use anti-dandruff shampoo?
And toothpaste just drys the spot out
anything else?

Anyway, trying sudocreme and I can see a difference already. Anti dandruff shampoo takes, like, weeks for it to work, and I was wondering if you can get it faster
Apart from that, I am ok no more problems
I've read that it's been proven junk food doesn't cause spots - if anybody wants to read I'll have a look around.
I have spots - quite a few, best thing is the sun. It's helped mine a lot :)
BTW, Head and Shoulders works for dandruff :D

Why are you embarrassed to ask your mum to get you spot cream? And why would you have to ask her in the first place.
My skin varies from clear to the odd spot, depending on the time of month. I don't get many spots, but I got this cream off the doctor for when I do. It's very good, I think one of the main ingredients is peroxide. I also found that using the pill changed the amount of spots I got. I would ask your doctor about both issues, since you're under 16 you'll get free prescription. Don't be embarassed about asking, there are way more embarassing things to have to see your doctor about, like smear tests and internal examinations.
About the dandruff, keep at it with the head and shoulders. You probably wont get overnight results. There are other anti dandruff products in the shops too. Try asking in boots/superdrug etc, and chat to your doctor about it.
Hope this helps.

Yes because it is that easy dear
It has been scientifically (yes scientifically *+*+*) proven that what you eat and drink will not effect you getting more or less spots and just ask your mother to get you some cream, it isn't hard to ask and you will feel better about it.

Toothpaste works well.
Don't pick them, as it'll turn a spot into a scab, which looks like a spot but lasts longer.
Make sure you dry your hair properly, and anti dandruff shampoo is much better than nothing.

For the dandruff I'd say not to use Head & Shoulders. I used it for ages before and no difference. Now I use Elvive Anti-Dandruff Intensive. It worked from the first time I've used it, and it's good if you have greasy hair as well. http://www.lorealantidandruff.com/index.htm. Also, you can get a free sample on the site

yeah clearasil and all that pish dosnt really stop sopts, just spreads them out, so it stops you getting HUGE ones, you just get loadsa of little ones. My advice: have a hot shower every day/ wash your face with hot water and soap (no ****) every day, should help.
