its just on the news, i'm not sure what has happened, but it must be responsbly serious as it is on the news..

Something I found on a aviation website:

"MNBC reporting UA 747 returning to IAD with Engine out. Not sure if it's a fire or what. Reports on MSNBC is that it will dump fuel.

Edit: Seems like eye witnesses saw fire in an engine at take off. Flightaware showing cruising at 5000 feet right now."

A Emergency landing could happen any day in the world. There quite common really.

I never see them on the news though, and I watch the news a LOT... I guess it was just because it was a 747..

also i think there are hundreds, or thousands, of runway overshoots a year. I watch very interesting programs :)

Iv been in an emergancy landing before when we had thunder storm.

They make it sound so scary on the radio thing, but its newt all you do is go to a nearer airport.
