View Full Version : Is it me or....[Doctor who]
Are the producers at Doctor Who losing the plot?
Next week episode, the doctor gets married and has lots of babies. I understand fully the story line going on but I don't know this just isn't Doctor Who! lol.
This series so far i've struggled to enjoy. It's just not right anymore. Omg last weeks episode with that sun thing, completely using the same story line as the Ood. The Doctors constant vulnerability is getting annoying and I don't seem to see the new series the way it used to be.
Is anyone else struggling to come to terms with this new series?

nope, i like this series. you gotta remember with last nights episode that the doctor never knew that he was the doctor, same with next week. i agree with the sun bit, that was a bit ott.

I was thinking that yesterdays episode was abit off track as I felt we found out very little of what was going on.
All I found out from that episode was that The Doctor doesn't know he is the Doctor, and they are hiding from a family of aliens.

he cant just keep beating aliens. he needs to split up with his wife and see who gets custody of the time warp kids.

I liked last nights episode as it wasnt cliche of all the aliens etc, and last weeks episode did take the biscuit and was a rip off of the Ood episode. But I love this new series and....Freema is dreamy, she really showed her talents in last nights episode. I had been iffy about her until her acting ability really shone through last night.

i liked it until he kissed that women.
i was like >_<
hopefully that boy will open the watch and he'll remember who he is.
and WTH? and getting married and children
completely lost the plot with that.
untill that is some vision or something.
The doctor having relationships...it's just not right.
but it got me thinking that when the Doctor is transformed back, does his children become half time lord :o!!!
that kid already opened the watch and is recalling things that 'John Smith' should. He is technically the doctor now...that kids come a long way since Love Actually :P

I liked it because it was different to the straight to saving the world episodes. Its one of my favourites this series.
I think they want to make that baby half timelord so they can carry on Doctor Who when the Doctor has used all his regenerations and dies.
Also it was so obvious that Martha was going to walk in when he kissed the woman. I could just see it happening.
I wanna see what he does next week :P This episode was based on a Doctor Who book but we can't read it on the doctor who website at the moment probably because they don't want us finding out what happens.

yh, i didn't really like last nights episode, like a post above said it's not right about the doctor having relationships. :s
i liked the week before that's, its more doctor who-ish than this weeks.
although it'll be good next weeks, when he actually turns back into the doctor.

the little boy in it, isn't he someone out of the episode when they went into a time during the war and the alien things had gas masks on?
Nah he isn't the gas mask boy. he's completely different hehe.

i dont watch it because it for geeks lol
doctor who isn't difficult to figure out so it isn't geeky. people who don't watch it or claim they don't say it to avoid feeling embarrased by viewing a family show. :P

You really wouldnt beleive the boy from Love Actually is 17. He just doesnt look it.
I loved it. Absolutley loved it. Its one of my favourites from this series. Last weeks was my least favourite. I want to see how Marthas Mum develops as a character though, and who those people were at the end of last weeks episode.

i think i know whats gunna happen already but its really cruel to say because it will give alot away. but i heard something about timelord children a few years weeks ago and.. Its really cool.
+ When the guy said hes not alone hes saying the masters out there.. people think its other time lord but the last one is the master.. and the tracking has something to do with the master apparently so yeh, the timelord kid parts weird and im about 70% sure about it but if im wrong ill get like 100 - rep so im not gunna say anything.

I know:
(don't want to spoil it for others who may not know this already)
The face of boe meant The Master when he said hes not alone.
i remember reading last year that we meet the doctors son...perhaps that's changed to sons? and what about the face of bo? [do not wish to tell]
Ooo and yeah that kid does look like he's 10. although his voice has broken (i think) so bleh, would assume he is slightly older lol.

i've gotten confusedd by this thread tbhh.
i'll have to watch the episode again.
Does John Barrowman (Captain Jack) come back?!
Also, I liked last night's episodee, I use to really dislike Dr Who, but I love it now.
Fill me in on this "The Master" thing, I was kinda drifting in and out last night.
Any recaps..

I think the problem with people now days is they are so used to monsters, Aliens and stuff blowing up they find anything their not used to boring. I used to watch old Doctor who episodes and enjoyed them ( Tom Baker ftw) I think its harder for a writer to make an audience enjoy a episode where you have to concentrate and take everything in than an episode where you get Aliens running aroundkilling people which is all we've really seen since they bought Doctor Who back with Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper. So I was very pleased to see an episode like the one on satuday and hope to see many more like it.

In the 'old' episodes of Doctor Who The Master was one of the Doctors greatest foes he was also a Time Lord who like the Doctor rebeled against the time lords but used his tardis for evil. The Master and Doctor have both been sentenced to Death many times but the Master met his end when he got trapped in the time vortex/tardis heart ( or something)
so many questions will need to be answered if he does come back

I know you guys are saying wth he is having kids?!
But just think about it, if they do get married and have kids, wouldn't that mean they would have to be there for months? I think it is like when Tim Latimer has a vision of the future and he can see what will happen. Maybe it is just a vision of him having kids if he doesn't change back.

When he has the Kids he isn't the Doctor he dosn't remember ever being the Doctor to him the Doctor is just a fictional character ! He is Human

I think maybe Tim has a vision of when his kids are grown up but The Doctor/John Smith still has a baby because that will be on the BBCs list of excuses to carry on Doctor Who when The Doctor has used all his regenerations :P

I thought Saturdays episode, the one set in 1913 was absoulutely fantastic. Infact, it's probably become one of my favorite episodes. I think the plot is imaginative and intriguing. Great!

Yeah its a bit different which makes it a great episode and i'm glad they didn't try to cram it all into one episode.

I don't think thats technically true...
The doctors body got completely re-wrote, so therefore he is no longer a time lord, so the children will be human ;[

The genes that came from the doctor may change back to time lord when he changes back so they might become half time lord. Its just my theory
