Channel 4 has announced today it will halve the cost of the Big Brother eviction votes to 25p.
25p was how much it used to cost a few years ago, but Channel 4 have steadily increased this amount to 50p as it stood for the past three years.
The price cut is aimed at keeping the voting 'fair and transparent'.
“Cutting the cost of phone votes will hopefully encourage the highest possible number of our viewers to interact with the program.”
In another development, viewers will not be able to vote to evict by text during this series.
"This is because the mobile phone operators cannot process the votes within a time frame suitable for the voting procedures on the program."
Thoughts? I vote by text - so it's unlikely I'll vote this year, but with the price halfed, I might as well ^^
