Yeah so I got both of my ears(the lobes) pierced today and I bought some diamond studs and I'm wanting to change my studs as soon as. It's recommended to leave them in there for 6 weeks but I'd prefer to just put my diamond studs in! I've got the cleaning solution aswell. Just wondering is there any way I can just switch them over and leave the diamond ones in for like 6 weeks? And how long was it after you had your ear(s) pierced did you switch the studs?

They say like 4/6 weeks, but I can't really see any reason why you can't switch them if you like, do it quick, keep them clean, and keep twisting them [thats what I was told, so they don't close up around the earring]

i was going to keep the stud in for the whole 6weeks, but i ended up changing it over to the diamond after 2/3 days. it never done any harm, just make sure you do it fairly quick.

Cheers, that's what I intend on doing!

i just used a little ball of cotton wool that had been dipped in warm water with a lil bit of salt in it.
just change it and clean it. bling bling baby
They recommend 6 weeks because the studs you would have been pierced with are thicker in order to prevent them healing. I wouldn't change them otherwise your lobe might heal over. So I wouldn't recommend it :( I understand the wanting though. But 6 weeks passes quickly hehe.
When I got my left one done when I was 5 I left it in for 6 weeks, but when I got my right one done when I was 15, I left it in for 3 weeks but kept cleaning it and it came out fine.

I was gonna get just my left ear pierced but then I thought I may aswell go for both. Cheers for the advice everyone! I'll change them tomorrow, just over 2 days! Anything I should do to keep it stopped from infecting or becoming septic? I'll probably post/get a pic of it tomorrow with the diamondz in!! x

Yeah I've got that stuff, I'm gonna use it twice daily when I put the other diamond studs in.

Right ear right queer lol. Nah both is fine, looks pretty good with a diamond set too. I wouldn't recommend switching it straight away, but if you know you'd be able to do it accurately and quickly then go for it in a couple of days when the wound isn't as fresh. Just be careful that you don't take so long that the hole heals itself, but also don't be reckless and agitate it or you're in for a long and messy healing time.

Thats the best way,
Lobe piercings are no problem, give them 4 days to heal a little before switching,
Helix piercings (top of your ear) give about 6 weeks because this takes ages to heal properly, after the 6 weeks are up make sure it looks healthy before changing otherwise you will find it difficult.
Also make sure that the both earings studs have the same diameter studs, if its larger your likely to damage the hole.
I have had my lobes pierced for 15 and a half years and my helix done for 3 years.
