BBC said passengers wasn't in danger yeah, yet the fuel tank runs UNDER taxiways and partly passes one of the main runways.. Ermmm, massive explosion, planes on taxiways and runway - Spread to the terminal..

It's sick, but thankfully they stopped it before it happened :)

I can't believe it was said to be worse than 9/11.

Wow, good work by the FBI.

mmhmm.

cant be bothered to read article, but i saw on cnn
from what i heard the plot was still in planning stage, no materials collected
so its'mazing the fbi picked up on it

i heard they were planning on using some kind of dynamite? on really thick steel? that wouldnt work well, some specialists said..

-Soph-

Yeah, I think they were going to use plastic explosives, on CNN it said that the gaspipes led to some gates and could of destroyed some aircraft too, and note that there was a gaspipe leading all the way to new jersey, around 40 miles away... I think you can work the rest out for yourself.

it's very chilling, we're very lucky it didn't happen.

also, has anyone else heard about airport security being put up because of it? I haven't, and it's a worry.

Believe me, USA airport security is so tight nowadays.. It's the English airports that need more security, can get a LOADED gun through Birmingham Airport? - Onto a plane.. Well yeah, says it all!

Wow, my brother was at JFK airport on Saturday! I can see how it could have been worse than 9/11...

how do you know, have you tried?:rolleyes:

and I think the security levels need to be as high as they were after august last year, I know it will cost money.

No, why would I try..

ITV tried though, worked ;) - Loaded gun on a plane but yeahhh.

Security is really really tight, search figures are higher than ever.. I saw every 1 in 3 people being searched in America coming home.. Beats the UK for every 1 in 7?

I don't think the searches are thorough enough, i'm not saying we should strip everyone naked, but really, I think it would be easyish to sneak something through.

If I did security at a airport, I wouldn't be able to sleep at night if I thought I didn't do my job properly.

:s

Everytime i've been searched, they've done it properly.. Searched in every area I could put something, obviousaly bar you know what parts.

It would however, be fairly easy to take things on a plane with you that you shouldn't..

Same here, especially if something happened and it turned out I searched them.

I don't think it would be that hard to fool.
and I agree with your last point.

Personally, I think everyone should be searched.. Yes it would mean longer wait times, but safer travel..

I mean going off topic, but still on transport.. London Underground is just asking for more terror attacks, there is 0 security at all, the odd few coppers with guns.. Wow?

Come on world, beat the terrorists, please!

I know, I totally agree... I wouldn't mind waiting an extra 30 minutes so that I am safe... Wasn't there that x-ray thing going on.. I remember it happened at phoenix airport near me, I wonder what happened to that hmph.

I agree with you, ldn underground security needs to be HIGH, a lot more than what happened on 7/7 could potentially EASILY happen again.

VERY VERY easy.. Nobody is going to stop you walking on with a bag full of bombs, thats the sad thing.. They wouldn't even have a clue what you had.

But I guess, they wont do anything about it.. It's not practical, but it would be a hell of alot safer.

am I right in saying that there isn't any metal detectors etc. on the underground?

it's been over 4 years since i've rode it.

lmao are you joking?

the amount of people that use it, you'd have to leave for work at 6am or something crazy like that.

Lol, no.. They aint practical love.

It takes long enough to get down the escolators, even when walking during rush hour.. Never mind with security proceedures aswell..

Lets take hmm Angel station for example, LOTS of office workers.. It's usually jam packed full and has taken me, on occasion, 20 minutes to reach the trains.. Think, if there was metal detectors, that would have taken 1 hour 20 minutes!

-Soph-
06-06-2007, 10:56 PM
I'd prefer to wait 1 hour 20 minutes than to be blown up.

I don't care if its not practical, it should be done.

Also, can you not call me "love", I really don't like it...

Ok.. Same, but it's not realistic anyway.

There isn't really anywhere for them to put metal detectors lol, it gets busy enough.

idk, but I think something should be done, or else it won't be long before something worse happens on the underground, perhaps that will open the governments eyes.
