Right, you know for the OCR Double Award science GCSE.. we done an exam at the end of yr10 to go towards our final GCSE, and I got a A in it. But, it my mocks I got CC, but that never included my coursework/earlier exam in yr10. So, say I got a A in my courswork/earlier exam overall, and a C overall with the science exams this/next week.. would I get a AC? Or would I get a CC or what?

Don't think that makes any sense at all, but I didn't know how else to word it!

Cheers for any help.

This exam is 50% so it would probably average out at a B or something. The two grades you get will be exactly the same.

Ah right, cheers!

So, what do each of the two grades stand for then if they will both be the same?

It's just your overall science grade but you get 2 GCSEs out of it

you can't get AB or AC or BA or whatever, they just add all the marks up and decide what grade boundary it's in so if you got A in coursework A in earlier test and C in propper it might add up to BB.

Youll end up having the average which most likely would be BB

If your doing the OCR Gateway exam it it different to the normal ones.

You do an exam on B1, C1 and P1 - 33% percent
You do an exam on B2, C2 and P2 - 33% percent
You do one coursework and that is also 33%.

Also this new course means that your grades arnt the same like it used to be. So if you got all A's in year 10 for both exams and coursework you would keep that A and if in year 11 you didn't perform as well you could come out with a B and the grades you would leave with would be an A and a B for science.

Hope this helped.

PS i got my OCR exam tomorrow :D

You can get two different grades FYI, my GCSE AQA Double Award science course we can get two different grades, like AB,AC,AD ect.

as i'm doing the same course as you i'll explain :P

coursework = 20 %
exam we did in june in year 10 = 25%
combined = 45% of whole course, i got A overall for this out of the 45%
total for this lot = 270 UMS marks

one chem, one phys, one biology exam combined = 55%
total for this lot = 330 UMS marks [110 each]

this then comes to a combined total of 600 UMS marks

540 UMS = a*
480 UMS = A
etc.

hope this helps :) unlike eamonn's course we get one grade. eg.. AA
