Well there have been so many guitarists dubbed with the title

"Best guitarist ever"

But who is the best?

My opinion, Jimmi Hendrix. But im not really into that kind of music. I have also been told that Jimmi is the best.

Some guy can play 20 chords a second or something... Any ideas people?

Tom Morello [rage against the machine/audioslave] is so innovative, I'm going with him. Jonny Greenwood [radiohead] is a close second

Are you being serious about Charlie Simpson? 'cause the Fightstar stuff is amazing if you're taking the ****. I know the band will never be legendary and he's not an amazing or outstanding guitarist but they do make awesome music.

Russel is a huge Jonny Greenwood fanboy too [link (http://www.veen.com/greg/archives/000721.html)]. And Jonny Greenwood is a Graham Coxon fanboy, so it's kinda a loop, haha. The 3 most innovative guitarists of our generation are Morello, Greenwood, and Coxon.

My 2 favourite guitarists are Johnny Greenwood and Tom Morello.

Haven't heard much from Blur which is actually a shame(no sarcasm there if that's what anyone thinks) because they were a very inspirational band. I may check out some of their songs and then go onto purchase an album!

sorry to offend but he comes from woodbridge, we all know "of him"
but all the older guys my mates brothers and all that know him well.
SOOOO UP HIMSELF!
but yeah, never really got into fightstar, alot better than BustedFly though.

I think i have heard of slash.. got a lot of mates who are in to heavy music.

Tbh imo people who are in punk rock bands or whatever ie. Slipknot are crap. I like proper music, you know stuff like status quo. People who don't play extremely loud and scream into a mic....

My opinion only tbh ^

Well I wouldn't say that Slash plays for 'heavy music' bands. But he is awesome. :D

He's an alright guy - met him at a few shows and read a few interviews.

There is no best guitarist ever in my opinion, but there are great guitarists.
Such as Slash, Buckethead and my personal fav's, Herman Li and Sam (cant remember his second name), the two guitarists from Dragonforce.

Yeah, Guns and rosess were never metal, just hard rock. I don't know why so many people consider them metal.

because they were part of the whole "hair metal" scene, although it's not really metal. kind of like how nu-metal isn't metal, either.
