womanizer

Emily has been in the Diary Room since 3AM, the voting lines between Shabs and her have also been cancelled and the nominated bar around their heads of the website has disappeared.

An insider on a BB forum said she was booted out after a Racist/Bullying row...

The housemates just got a leaflet from BB. She's been ejected.

Nicky: (shocked laughter) Em, I can't believe you said that.
Charley: You are in trouble.
Emily: Don't make a big thing out of it then. I was joking.

Charley: Oh my god. I'm not even saying it.
Nicky: Just don't talk about it anymore.
Emily: I was joking
Charley: Do you know how many viewers would watch that?
Nicky: Okay, don't make a big deal out of it.
Charley: Fancy you saying that. I can't believe you said that.
Emily: Somebody has already used that word in this house.
Charley: No way. (Pause) Yeah, me. I'm a n*****.

Nicky laughs.

Charley: I am one. Fancy you saying it. I know maybe you see it in a rap song. Maybe you and your friends sit there saying it.
Emily: I'm friendly with plenty of black people.
Nicky: And you call them n*****s?
Emily: Yeah and they call me n*****s. They call me wiggers as well.
Nicky: I'm quite shocked.
Charley: I'm f***ing in shock.

Thats what I think she didnt mean it offensively its just one of them cases where she didn't think before she spoke.

Yea you could do it around your friends n stuff if they don't mind but on TV where loads of people watch I just don't think she realised some people do take offence to it... tut tut

Emily on big brother has been removed on big brother for rasict remarks to fellow housemate Charley

Contestant Emily Parr was removed from the Big Brother house in the early hours of this morning after using a racially offensive word to a fellow housemate.

Emily was dancing with Charley and Nicky in the living room of the Big Brother house at approximately 8.30pm last night when she was heard to say "Are you pushing it out you n****r?" to Charley.

Emily immediately made clear that she had not intended to offend and that the comment had been meant as a joke. In discussing what she had said, Charley and Nicky agreed that they were not personally offended, although both did express shock at the language she had used. In the ensuing discussion, Emily acknowledged that she should have been more careful with her words.

The comment was not screened as part of the 'as live' streaming on E4 and was immediately reported up to senior production staff at Brighter Pictures, the Endemol UK subsidiary that produces the show. In consultation with senior executives at Channel 4 the decision was taken to remove Emily from the house on the grounds that she had broken the rules governing contestant behaviour.

Emily was called to the Diary Room at approximately 03.30 am to be informed of the decision and was removed from the house immediately without further contact with other contestants. The remaining housemates were informed of Big Brother's decision at approximately 9.30am.

Emily was one of two housemates nominated for eviction this week and as a result the latest eviction vote has been suspended.

Angela Jain, who heads the Big Brother commissioning team at Channel 4, said: "I think people watching the show tonight will agree that Emily spoke carelessly rather than maliciously - certainly Charley and Nicky, the two housemates most directly involved in the conversation with her, seem to accept that she did. She understands why her involvement in Big Brother has had to come an end and she very much regrets what she said.

"In the wake of Celebrity Big Brother we must consider the potential offence to viewers regardless of Emily's intentions and her housemates' response. The word n****r is clearly racially offensive and there was no justification for its use. We have removed Emily from the house to once again make it clear to all housemates and the viewers at home that such behaviour won't be tolerated."

Even though I wanted her to agree, I don't agree with you. She should of been kicked out. Ginger is more of a describing word, whereas the word she used is generally meant to insult.

She should of been booted out, everyone would be offended and moaning. I'd of got sick of the news story, it was a easy and clever option. It's happened before, clearly they learnt, so well done Channel 4.

She didn't mean to be racist but as someone said, she's ignorant the meaning and acted innocent as usual, and used a pathetic excuse.

Yes generally, not all the time. Ginger is also generally meant to be an insult between young people. Did you not see that family on GMTV who had to move due to ginger bullying,

she was a ***** anyways, tried to act all innocent in them arguments with ziggy on last nights show.

And why would someone so innocent say something harsh to someone to their face if she meant it like that.

I like Emily and thought she was a great dymanic to the house, she shouldn't of gone, it wasn't taking the mick out of her it was just saying she did something like typical black people do when dancing. Lar de Dar, i don't get how if any black person says it to another black person it's fine, but if someone white says it not being racist, people should take offence to it. Even charlie moments later said she wasn't bothered about it, but was shocked that she knew other people would.

racist words r worse than ginger words as racist words tend to have a past, whereas words which may offend people who are ginger are not and are minor compared to racist words.

think of it like this, if u were in the middle of town and shouted a word which ppl who have ginger hair may find offensive and a racist word, which 1 would ppl react 2 more? thats the main reason y emily was booted off bb. cause ppl would kick off like last yr, which is not what they want.

I have to agree there, since the CBB, they have gone a bit to overdramatic with the whole racist thing. She even said herself that it was a joke, and that Nikki and Charley who were there i think even said that weren't bothered, just shocked that she said it.

Emily should not of been thrown out, given a formal warning would of been more sensible. Why did she beg? Weak little *****. I think I pitied her moreso than sympathising for her, although I think her ejection was uncalled for, as someone said I doubt it would've happened if the ordeal with Shilpa hadn't of happened. Charley made it so much worse by bringing it up about 500 times after it'd happened, she acted as if a housemate had just been killed. I don't agree with Emily being removed but on Big Brother's behalf, they had no other option but to do so, they're already tredding on thin ice.

I agree with charley.
Its kind of shockin that it just slipped out so casually.
I think charley acted well, she wasnt trying to make a big deal about it but you could tell it had offended her hence why it stayed on her mind.
Emily didnt act well afterwards, she should have apoligised and then not repeated the word trying to justify herself.
Dont think she should of been kicked out mind.

I dont like charley or emily much anyway.

Charley is trying to use this to her advantage for example in the bedroom to the others she was all like "I CNT TELL U WHAT SHE SAID BUT ITS REALLY BAD BUT WE WILL LEAVE IT AT" then a few minutes later "IT WAS WELL BAD". Shes an idiot. She knows what happend in CBB and now she thinks she is gonna be all popular because of this, She already has been discussing how its gonna be all over the papers. She think she is gonna be the winner because of some sort of "race row".
Emily did not mean to say it, But i believe it was right for big brother to eject her as she should of known to watch her language after CBB.

Bear-Max
07-06-2007, 11:01 PM
Firstly, I disliked Emily, so I'm not too fussed about her ejection.

She said I stupid stupid thing, trying her best to look "street", and it didn't work. She's obviously been around the word for it to have slipped out, and has had an ignorant enough upbringing to not fully understand the implications of the word. It's a HORRIBLE word. Whether or not a "word is just a word" doesn't matter, it means a great deal to some people and it's not fair to use it. I would never use the word around anyone, and I have similar objections to using words such as "gay" and "******ed" derogatorily (though as kids we seem to be brought up with those words and it's much harder to pull yourself out of the habit).

Big Brother was totally right to take her out of the house. Not only has it shown that this sort of thing won't be tolerated after the CBB fiasco, but it's saved Emily herself a hell of a lot of trouble. After saying that, there's no doubt votes for her would have surged and she would have certainly been evicted tomorrow. At 19 facing the boos and public jeers would have been character-breaking, and she didn't deserve to be hung out to dry. I honestly believe she didn't mean it, but that doesn't excuse her.

Some are saying it's all Charley's fault for going on about it. Well... yeah. She has a right. It was said to her and despite protesting she wasn't offended it obviously quite deeply affected her.

Call me a cynic though, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if Emily was a plant in the house. Someone to make an example of very early on as well as generating good press for C4. I mean... they were all briefed before going in so there's no way you'd even think of using that word unless you had a clear intention to break the rules or were incredibly stupid. I'm not entirely sure which Emily is.

Yea I agree. Thats just made me think maybe Charley thinks after Emily calling her that, that Charley will look the innocent one and basically be like the new Shilpa how when she came out the house everyone cheered her etc etc.

Ha no. I mean she was pretty much boasting about the fact about whah appened and how she knew and couldn't tell anyone. She told Shabnam who then went outside to talk to Emily about it then Charley started having ago at her saying 'why are you bringing it up again'?

Seriously Charley anoys me so much. Get Her Out!

For Emily I can tell it was a slip of the tongue but BB did the right thing as they have to show that they aren't tolerating that kind of behaviour anymore.

After watching that last night, I hate Charley even more than I did before. She kept telling them to be quiet but then carrying on herself, she told Shabnam but then when Shabnam confronted Emily about it she told Emily that Shabnam had overheard? Err no you told her! Then in the bedroom constantly going on about it.. she clearly wanted her out & as people have said she thinks that she's going to win because of it. It's just not true, people have seen how she manipulated that situation to her own gain & I reckon she'll be out the first time she's up. She wasn't liked before she even opened her mouth, and with this and the arguement with Chanelle she'll be gone. Good riddens.

As for the whole situation, it was just a stupid thing to come out with in that type of atmosphere. BB are under close scrutiny and it's been warned that they can be shut down if anything else like the race row isn't dealt with in an acceptable way. I don't think she meant it viciously but still.. she did deserve to go because she's obviously naive if she thinks that wouldnt get her into trouble.

I despise Nicki for what she said, it may of been subtle, but from what I could decipher, she was trying to make it a big thing and acted like it was really offensive so Emily would be severely punished. I don't trust Nicki at all.

Why is it racist to call someone a monkey? As far as I know monkey isn't a race, it's a species of simian primate.

I find it funny you're talking about racism when your signature has a character with the swastika on his forehead.

charley is gay. she made so much of a deal out of it. i call people ****** all the time & i go to a 90% black school, so yaknow?

its stupid. but i suppose, bb have to cover their backs after january.

Same. We all make jokes at each other in my school. The Indians call us dirty white boys, n we say things back.

The thing that annoyed me (I didn't like Emily anyway) is that when she was in the diary room, it said NO house mate should use offensive language. Yet Charley kept repeating this word. NO house mate should mean NO house mate, not any white/Asian housemate. Thats racist in a sense too, saying that black people can say it, but white can't.

I think it's even funnier that you immediately jump to the conclusion that swastika = racist. Do a bit of research and you might realise that the swastika is actually an ancient symbol that represents good luck, widely used in a number of religions including Buddhism and Hinduism. Just because the Nazis hijacked it doesn't make it racist.

Plus the character in my sig is from Naruto, and Naruto is cool.

That probably made alot of sense to someone with a superior knowledge of symbols...

But that I understood.

Wiggers are damn annoying though, you go to america and every other white is acting like they're in the crips or something. It's like Aisleyne from the last one.
