basic would be about £40 (hardly ever find these)

the one your most likley to get is one with wii sports. and some packages issued by nintendo. (they would send a message to GAME or someone saying, if you put this package up you would make loads of profit) so yeh, if its second hand you probably cant register it. if its new and cheap go for it because you dont find many cheaper than £170

WiiSports is basically all you need for the first few weeks, its so addictive and fun. Doubles in tennis is great if youve got the space and so is baseball. Boxing im not a huge fan of but its not bad and golf im pretty good at. It also does a nice little fitness test for you which measures your fitness age throughout your completion of the game :D
For the last 2 weeks its basically all ive played on, the 360 is currently gathering dust just below it...

Agree's. Wii sports is nifty.

However, if you really want a game, Excite truck is pretty good too.

You get Sports free with it (If it's brand new).

I'd suggest getting Zelda, really addictive - I didn't think I'd like it tbh, but it's really good.

WiiSports
WiiPlay
Excite Truck
Mario Strikers Charged Football
Eleedes

That will keep you for about 6 months alone.

well i called all the local stores and was told I will have to get lucky and be in the store when the shipments come in since they usually sell out in two hours. They wouldn't let me reserve one and they wouldn't tell me when the next shipment is. Kind of annoying huh?

Thanks for all the input I am just going to stick with Wii Sports and get zelda a little down the road

100th post btw

I had that with Virgin Megastores, so resorted to good ol' Ebay ;D!

Wario Ware is a decent game too, kinda boring after a while but it's good fun when you have a few mates round.

The Wii has been rather disappointing for me so far. If I were you I'd wait for the big three in Mario Galaxy, Smash Bros and Metroid. It adds depth to the lineup, and if those games are disappointing then the console won't really be worth buying. All I can say is, all of these shallow games get old fast, I'd wait for some proven quality before purchasing it.

Well there are 6 Wii's in my city right now according to my friend who works at gamestop

And he set one aside for me

So here comes my Wii

just going to buy a console for now

Honestly? It's fun but it gets old real quick. While the motion controls make you go "Ooh!", their use is really noticeably tacky in most games. None of the Wii titles seem to have that much depth to them.

Well I don't know what everyone else is on about but I've enjoyed my Wii since the day I got it. It's alot of fun and even more fun with friends. I recommend you buy one. :)

^^

I think the problem isn't the controls, but the games that are coming with the controls. Nintendo needs epic-depth games to give it some feet.

My local stores hate me. My friend called me on my way to Gamestop and goes you aren't going to believe this but I just took lunch break, came back and my manager sold the Wii to Micheal (some other kid from our school.)

Looks like I wasn't meant to own a Wii today. I will keep bugging every supplier in town until I get one.

Well I thought that Excite Truck controlled excellently, same with Tony Hawks Downhill Jam. The rest of the games I have control quite good aswell. Although I did have alot of trouble with Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, in the end I ended up using the buttons to do the moves instead of waving my hands all over the place. So I guess you're right. But some games that are already out control pretty good. Also, I agree with your second comment. Nintendo does need more epic-depth games.

alot of people i have spoke to say its hard to control certain games & personally i dont like the range of games but thats just personal taste. :P

I said in my post that it wasn't the controls I was worried about, just the games. Your examples are testimony to the way I think. I don't want Excitetrucks or Tony Hawk's, they're rental games at best. Nintendo needs epic games with depth, but it seems the controls themselves restrict that.

We'll see in the future.
