Sorry, I messed the last one up with the confusing title. Not many Mods on to alter it so I think best to start again.

i suppose it would be better as you get the random people -repping for no reason.

i voted right this time :D
but yeah;
"no. -rep shouldn't be disabled for anybody, everybody has the honest right to disagree with somebody's opinion.
i said my main piece in the other thread, but basically if you don't earn -rep, you won't have to complain when you get it? comprende?"

Everyone should be able to -rep. What if people only post in spam forum and there posts dont increase? Therefore it might be longer for them to get silver stars?

Bronze members (those with less than 500 posts), should not be able to -rep.

&yes. i do know i have less than 500 posts.

anyone should be aloud to -rep as we all have our own opinions and the amount of posts you have etc doesn't change the opinion that a certain person has.

People under 500 posts should not be able to rep, so people can not keep on making new accounts for the purpose of -repping

That's just stupid, everyone should be able to rep. And if people under 500 posts can't bad rep, they shouldn't be able too good rep as well. Everyone gets minus rep removed if it's pointless anyway, if you're want to scrap something, scrap the whole rep system.

I think that there needs to be something that will stop random repuation, like a system where all -rep goes into a filter for admins to check if its pointless or not? Idk, i'm just throwing it out there.

I got no complaints with it as it is, none that could be fixed by changeing who can - rep at leasy.

Bronze and below can't -rep

I don't really have the need to complain as I never get -rep, but I think changing it so bronze members can't -rep would be better. I also think that they shouldn't be able to +rep though as well, making it so they can't -rep is for people who can't hack a bit of their reputation taken away.
Making it so bronze members can't give rep at all means that during the time they rank up their posts, they'll hopefully gain the understanding of what sort of posts do and don't deserve rep (be it negative or positive).

Reputation.
Reputation.
Reputation.

Half the time, I think that's the only thing this forum cares about.
The point is, what damage can a member with under 500 posts actually do... WOW -1 REP, 3 at the most? Wow what a considerate loss...

It's not exactly hard to get pointless reputation removed.

I think it would be incredibly unfair to let only a certain amount of users -rep, as it is declaring they are "better" than the population of users who cannot +rep.

This may also put off new users from carrying on using the forum once joining.

Leave it as it is.

We should give the right to -Rep. for people no matter what their post count.

Even if there's pointless -Rep., we can report it and have it removed.

Rather than make it so, say a person with less than 500 posts can't -rep why not do it based on a combination of both at least 100 posts and has been a member of the forum for at least 2 months, because people who only post in the spam forum will have a very low post count. Although 100 posts isn't a lot, the fact that the person has to have had their account registered fo at least 2 months balances it out, as length of time being a forum member is more fair apart from the fact that a person could create an account and then leave it for 2 months, which is where the 100 post count balances it out in that situation.

That's a very good idea & post, especially the understanding of what posts do and dont deserve rep etc, I can see where your coming from. If they cant -rep they shouldnt be able to +rep as Robo said.
